Ah, I'm happy again. Finally crawled out of nl25, and put my attempts at multitabling lots of tables and waiting for hands/relying on stats far, far behind me. An interesting experiment for me, but not one I'll return to in a hurry. Back at nl50 and fast approaching nl100, and back to 1/2 tabling, and relying on reads, notes and outplaying: Poker is sweet again. [/ QUOTE ] Nice bb/100. Sustainable? Anyway, here are my stats while single tabling, which I've been doing for the last two weeks after my big downswing. I think I'll be sticking to single tabling for a while. It's more fun anyway, and since the most I can do at once is 4 tabling, I don't think doing it is hurting my win rate. |

Nice to see that you are feeling good about poker again, Jeff.
I pretty much keep it to 1-table nowadays. I think you have to consider your motives in that sort of decision. If I were playing for a living I would play a lot more tables. |

Nice bb/100. Sustainable? [/ QUOTE ] GAH! My pokertracker has gone up the spout again, and I did still have a lot of previous HHs, so I've been reimporting...but the numbers and counts are all different, so I'm mysteriously missing stuff... To answer your questions, I've not doubt that single-tabling and using reads/notes will definitely be a higher bb/100 for a solid player (and I mean by that not too tight preflop, and pretty good post-flop) than even the best 8+ tabler, and I do think it's sustainable to stay in double figures. Howver, it's gonna take years and years of playing to be really sure, because the numbers of hands played are so much less. Maybe I can be surer this time next year.... |

Hey Jeff, looks like your pwning the blinds with impunity. Is this a sample size thing or do you usually steal this much? [/ QUOTE ]This is fairly accurate, though opponent dependent. My stats run very different on different tables. I watch closely to see how often people defend their blinds, and if they don't then I go for it, especially if it's a multi-tabler or a shortstacker. Shortstacks because they can't defend effectively, and multi-tablers because they have bigger fish to fry than trying to stop people like me from stealing their blinds (they don't notice, and they really don't care). I'm a little more careful with single tablers because they will notice/care, and eventually get frustrated enough that they start playing back. |

Re: ** Official June Chat Thread: The Flush **
I'm pretty sure that when I've single tabled I've mostly run double digits, but the sample sizes are so small that I really can't tell what I should be hoping for long term. I wish with there was a way in PT to isolate the sessions where I was only running one table at a time.

Nice to see that you are feeling good about poker again, Jeff. [/ QUOTE ]Thanks man, and I appreciate the push you gave me to keep me going. [ QUOTE ] I pretty much keep it to 1-table nowadays. I think you have to consider your motives in that sort of decision. If I were playing for a living I would play a lot more tables. [/ QUOTE ]Yeah, this is the attitude I've started taking. Coming from the MTT world I'm used to multi-tabling because there the variance is so high it's nice to have some other games going after you bust. With FR, though, you get to see a lot more interesting spots if you play fewer tables and pay close attention to the action at your table. |
