Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
this whole movement to trade for teixeria is nice and all, but it's going to cost you more than mike lowell and a bag of chips. think a top flight prospect at least.

Beckett squeezed horribly wtf [/ QUOTE ] Beckett forced to throw about 15 more pitches than he should have and completely cheated out of at least two runs. Awesome. |

[ QUOTE ] Or trade for Texeira already [/ QUOTE ] you've mentioned this a couple of times recently. Is this just in your head or is it a possibility? I haven't heard anything about it, but then again it's still a little early for the start of the wacky 11th hour trade rumors. [/ QUOTE ] it's certainly possible but not likely. i think the FO is holding a little too tightly to some of their prospects. i'm sure they've talked to them, and with how quiet they try to keep things, for all we know they're close to a deal. but i think it's more likely we don't make any major moves. |

[/ QUOTE ] I hope the deal doesn't fall through because of an unwillingness to trade prospects. Surely, gambling on Texiera is worth a non-Buckholtz prospect. One of the advantages to being the Boston Red Sox is that with your (seemingly) unlimited resources you can afford to gamble and be wrong. |

so when ellsbury was on the bench and manny was up at plate, he was extra pumped to hit? L O L [/ QUOTE ] Of course not goof ball. I'm talking about the energy he infused into the team when he for example scored from second on a passed ball or got the infield hit on a routine grounder to SS. It's obvious to me that you probably never played sports on a competitive level when you make a comment like that. |
