I have this sinking feeling that our season will end with Eaton taking the mound to the horror of every Phillies fan ever.

As long as it's 13-0 at Coors in the bottom of the 8th, with Rox up, that's fine with me. Save Geary.

More like, Hamels blows out his arm before the game and out trots Eaton for Game 7 of the NLCS, which we promptly lose 28-3.

Seriously, even after the Rockies awesome game last night, I'm still in the aura of "Whoa, the Phillies are in the playoffs! Awesome!"

Enjoy it!

In the freak chance that Eaton somehow gets on the field for a start I want him to go the full 9 innings just so the world can see how terrible this [censored] is

Won't this just result in 8.1 innings of redundancy, and a 5 hour game?

I think I'd rather see Moyer pitching than everyone pitching on short rest.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'll take Hamels on 3 days rest and Kendrick in game 5 with full rest, but apparently I'm not nearly as high on Moyer as you guys. Don't have much confidence in a 44 year old pitcher after a 200 inning season who doesn't break 80.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, when he was 39 and did the same thing and didn't break 80mph and went 3-0 in the playoffs, you'd have made the same argument, right? No way Moyer goes 3-0?? Or even 1-0?

[/ QUOTE ]
Five years ago his ERA was over a run and a half better than this year. His fastball was probably 10 miles faster, since he was throwing in the low-mid 80s as recently as last year. Looking at how his ERA has skyrocketed and his velocity fallen over the course of this season, it's not a stretch to conclude that he is too worn out to be successful anymore.
