most things about Canterbury are ridiculous.

[/ QUOTE ]

I couldn't disagree more. Most things about the place are great.

[ QUOTE ]
It is full of people that aren't empowered in their lives and take every opportunity against their customers.

[/ QUOTE ]

Again, you are way off.

[ QUOTE ]
There are a few people I get along with there but if I go there twice a year (I live 15 minutes from the place) that is a lot.

[/ QUOTE ]

You claim to know so much about how the place is run, but only go twice/year? Clearly something doesn't add up here.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is the very fact that the place is absurd that keeps me away. You keep paying your $6 drop while they laugh at you. I don't have a problem with your opinion so let's just leave it at that.

It is my opinion that the dealers and the floor at Canterbury are the products of a bad system. The place charges too much for an inferior product. All of this is my opinion. Just because I don't play there much doesn't mean I don't know what is going on there nor does it make my opinion less valid. Would my opinion somehow be more valid if I went there all the time even though I think the place is a sham?

I am not suggesting that you are not entitled to your opinion. What I am suggesting, however, is that if you never set foot in the place, you quite likely have an uninformed opinion.

And yes, your opinion would be more valid if you spent any reasonable amount of time there, because then you would know what the hell you are talking about. But since you never go there, you don't have a clue. Sure, you may hear and read things, but that is all 2nd, 3rd, 4th or nth hand information. So, I guess basically you are making generalizations and assumptions about something that you hardly ever experience, which pretty much makes you an idiot.

I have played at Belaggio, Wynn, Venetian, Mirage, Commerce, Casino Arizona and many other places. The 'product' at Canterbury is not inferior at all. The dealers on average are significantly better than anywhere else I have played, and I am sure I have played more live poker in the last few years that you have. You clearly have an axe to grind with them, which is your prerogative, but I'm not going to let you bad-mouth them when you have no clue what the hell you're talking about. There are many things about the place that I think need to be fixed and I have been critical of Canterbury in this thread, but to suggest that it is a sub-par poker room is absurd.

Actually, that's exactly what it means. Another poster close up the thread has it right; CP is one of the best rooms in the country. I've never been anywhere else as good, but there are a some places that get close.

You may be entitled to an opinion but if it is factually inaccurate you're going to get flamed and deserve it.

I guess I am about the money and having the least hassle while trying to get that money. Paying a $6 drop (ok $5 for high limit) is not something I am ever going to do. For them to take advantage of you in that way and for you to enjoy it so completely is laughable.

If the customers had any say Canterbury would have more of a selection of games, a reasonable rake and no limit. But I see what you mean about my opinion being irrelevant.

Do this, tell them you have 5 friends and you want to play a mixed game, you will pay their enormous rake and you don't mind if other players join. Why would they say no if they were remotely reasonable and about profit?

The place is for suckers.

The fact that they do not spread mixed games does not mean the place is for suckers.

Wanting them to spread mixed games is not at all unreasonable. I have no problem with that complaint.

But just because they don;t spread the games you want doesn't mean that "the dealers and the floor at Canterbury are the products of a bad system". The dealers are great, and I have many pros who play in lots of places who will agree with me. Just because the way they do some things there pisses you off, doesn't mean that the dealers aren't the best around.

You can't beat the 15 game there, can you?

PokerBob or schneids maybe you can clarify this for me. i have played there a lot and have plenty of experience with the place, dealers, and floor but didn't some of the floor fall off when Griz (sp?) left and other floor and dealers left to go open the wynn's poker room? i could be absolutely wrong.

I wasn't there much when all that happened. I think Griz went to Montana or something, and there were several who went to the Wynn. Most of my experience there has been in the last 2 years.

blah blah blah. I don't have any problem with you having the unreasonable opinion that Canterbury is run great but you hurt your argument when you start making up things. I don't play at Canterbury for many reasons not the least of which is that there are no no limit games and the limit games are too small.

I notice you aren't defending the whole $6 drop thing. Wouldn't that alone pretty much make Canterbury a room for suckers?
