Start at dusk, that dramatically reduces the risk of him passing out unseen.

Wear a light (I suggest LED headlamps front and back different colours or flash patterns) or similar so it's pretty clear if his head is underwater or not.

I think the line causes more trouble than it solves (it gets wrapped round his legs or whatever)

Don't have douchebags in the safety boat.

Hell, maybe even have someone in the water with Sean during the dark hours.

As with any activity the risk can and should be minimised.

But yeah, the medical person should only be on site if Sean loses consciousness. With $200K on the line it's too easy for the medic's judgement to be "impaired" a little plus I expect he will go into hypothermia to some degree (although it's not really risky until you STOP shivering as we used to say when I climbed) so there's way too much of a judgement call to give anyone other than Sean the ability to throw in the towel.

Ok... busted out of Barcelona... off to Rome Talked to WPT about webcasting prop bet live from the Turks on the 23rd - 24th - they're in. So....... if we have a bet, let's do it then all!

There should actually be 2 medical personnel on site - 1 for McCabe and 1 for the opposition. That way they can determine together, without prejudice, if it is safe to continue.

One objective medic or doctor - I am only pulled from the water if I lose consciousness (which is when we need to worry). Attach a light to my head, whatever...

Attention all units Headed back to US tomorrow and still planning on heading to Turks on 22nd for a swim on the 23rd -24th - but haven't heard back from anyone... anyone have any news?

I'm planning on playing NAPC on the 26th, and will play Caesar's in Vegas next week instead of going to Turks if the oceanic "nay-sayers" have disappeared.

Hope everyone is doing well - hope my plane doesn't splash going across the pond. (Hey, wait a sec... if it does, and I survive 24 hours in the North Atlantic.......)

Default Everyone back out of the Prop Bet???

People were putting up $$$ to bet against me... until I set a time and a place. What's up with that?

Last chance at action before I book flights elsewhere...

The 23rd-24th in Turks, 24hrs in the ocean w/ no exposure gear, $100K minimum @ 1-1.
