I've always been in the "it sucks, will watch" camp.

If these were the only two eps I'd seen, I would just say "it sucks". Last year it was at least interesting. This year the elements that they want to be compelling are just so damn meh.

I don't care about Claire learning more about her powers and some new flying dude from the last season of One Tree Hill.

I don't care about random hispanics.

I don't care about Hiro in some Japan fantasy.

I might slightly care about Hiro's dad getting merked, but that plot features the cop, who is horrible.

I kinda care about the virus, but that features Mohinder, who is horrible.

I care about Peter and his power. That's about it.

I assumed that that was all set up by the 3 of them to fool the corporation for whatever reason.

The mystery killer is probably not Sylar, since he wouldn't know about the old group.

I'm ruling out Claude, since the mystery person was visible against Mr Nakamura and Claude doesn't seem the type to be visible in a fight.

for once I'm in absolute agreement with a Dids post.

The whole show should focus on Peter, Sylar, HGR+ Hatian dude and his take down the corp plan. Maybe throw in a couple of cool new characters..not lames one with [censored] lifted from the X-Files.

The illegal immigrants are awful, little girl is awful, cop is awful, Ali Larter + annoying little kid is awful, the whole Claire storyline + peter pan is awful, Ando is awful, and Hiro in Japan is awful.

My one big hope for Heroes is that they are just basically doing a lot of stage setting for people new to Heroes, trying to lure in the new viewers who maybe missed out last year. Hence tying up a lot of loose ends and sort of rehashing themes we've already done last year. Then in a few episodes once everyone is on board they can ramp it up and make it awesome again.

The problem with this theory is that the end of last season was utterly terrible. So it is quite possible that the writers just suck and this is as good as it gets. If I didn't have so much invested in this show already I would have probably ditched it by now.

I don't really think this season is bad at all FWIW.... and I never really even liked the show that much, but I do enjoy watching it.

Just don't understand all the hate here.

What's not to get? This show was really good for the middle part of last season. People built up high expectations regarding that window of episodes. Everything since then has been mediocre at best. Why can't people have high expecatations that a show needs to live up to? Lost gets the same treatment when it sucks. It is a sign of a good show that people care so much, or at least the sign of a show that used to be good and has potential to be great. No one is going to bitch about a show like CSI New Jersey because everyone just expects that show to suck.
