I think for each hand he's dealt, Todd Brunson should be charged a big blind for every single button he's left undone on his shirt.

Matusow already filled the quota for overweight hairy guys that leave their shirts unbuttoned. This season, Todd has taken that concept and expanded on it to disturbing levels. I don't know if I'm being exposed to high stakes poker action or a gheytway to gay bear porn.

Safai's comment would have been funny if it had been said by a 13 year old. Nothing funny, smart, or clever about a 45 year old dude making a joke about jacking off and c*mming on yourself. Plus he doesn't even know Helmuth which makes it even worse.

I disagree with the notion he doesnt know Hellmuth since the Hellmuth we all know is the same Hellmuth he was insulting. Its not the Hellmuth who picks his kids up from school every day he is home, its the total classless [censored] on TV he insulted. I thought it was quite funny.

So f**kin' entertaining! Zomg for the Q5 hand alone Safai deserves lifetime membership to the game.

Plz to be showing more bad/stubborn/courageous play HSP. Thx

All those comments by Gabe/AJ (or whoever is commentating whichever show I'm watching @ the time) I never even catch most of those. Now I have a reason to go back and watch everything again. I try to just tune into the table banter b/c well...you know

Whether you found it funny or not, Safai's joke was in good fun. Hellmuth berates, belittles and insults perfect strangers every day at the poker table.

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly. Safai gets the thumbs up early in the episode when Silent Mike makes the JT call.

Hellmuth starts his rant about amateurs and Safai interupts him with "Work on your anger management Phil". He then looks at Silent Mike, gives a smile, wink and a nod.

First at the table to congratulate him on a good call.

Kudos

he has to play sooner or later, as he is anteing and blinding...

[/ QUOTE ]

you do realize they get paid per hour to play on HSP, right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Do they get paid more for a speaking role?

Do they get paid even more for each line spoken?

gg

[/ QUOTE ]

No, but if their antics are "good for the show" then they get asked back.

That's why Daniel, Mike, Persian Antonio and both Phils keep getting invited back. Not for their play, but for their antics and table talk. And for Daniel's sick hand reading. And everyone wants to see Doyle, Barry & Jennifer play, so they keep getting invited back even though Barry & Jennifer are silent nits. Doyle is sort of the token class act.

That's why Persian Antonio came back to the table to shoot the [censored] even though he wasn't playing. More TV time, more exposure, more antics.

"Camera man, look at me! See, sponsors - Air time! Pay me to wear your sunglasses & designer shirts because I'm on TV and people think I'm cool. See how cool I am!"

Giant douche, yeah, but I'd murder my own mother to have his life.

I personally enjoy Gabe and AJ going back and forth, but it would be great to see HSP on DVD with the option to only listen to the table talk.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's a great idea.
