but the coach can have an 30yr career where as Manning is limited to 15ish.

[/ QUOTE ]

Someone being a head coach in the NFL for 30 years is very rare. I'd bet that no current NFL head coach gets 30 years of in before they retire.

[/ QUOTE ]

15 years isnt very common for a QB either, no thanks on the bet that will take over 10 years to accomplish.

One bet possibility that Id be willing to do is use the O / U and we would both pick x amount of teams that we think will exceed the O and x that will not reach the U. For every W that the team exceeds teh O / U by we would get a point, negative points for teams who wouldnt reach it if you said they would be on the O. Opposite for the U.

That might be kinda hard to understand, if anybody is interested ill elaborate.

I highly suggest the book: The Blind Side by Michael Lewis to any of you that think coaches are overrated. It follows the life of Michael Oher (currently a college player) and also talks about Bill Walsh outcoaching people. Might be the best book I've ever read.

15 year QBs are much more common than 30 year head coaches.

I could be wrong, but I think there are only 2 men to have been a head coach for more than 30 years in the NFL, Hallas and Shula.

By contrast, there are 2 active QBs who are in their 15th+ season.

Ok fine ill make the bet (ship it Tomlin).

PM me in 15yrs, k?

Seriously wtf?

Edit: Also 30 years as a head coach = 15 years as a starter, Brad Johnson has not been a starter for 15.

Thats besides the point though. Im sure there have been coaches that have been coaching for 30yrs maybe just not NFL head coach. You got me though I was wrong more like 15 years - 20 years, its more or less irrelevant to the post because no QB is at a high level for 15 years where as Coaches can be at a high level for a very long time.

That was definitely Dungy's team that won the Superbowl in Tampa. It was also Gruden's team that lost it.

[/ QUOTE ]

In the post I stated that I dont think Gruden is a great coach, I just think that NFL Owners are willing to trade alot for a coach, proving that NFL owners are on the same page as me. Im a Viking fan and Id shell out 2 1sts for 6yrs of Belichick.

[/ QUOTE ]

Remember the Browns and the 5 years they had him?

b

[/ QUOTE ]

the browns sucked and he made them competitive and even took them to the playoffs despite their atrocious talent.

then he cut kosar, model sabotaged the team to move and all browns fans and media hated him.

Prediction: BillNye will amuse me for the next 20 weeks or so when I visit the sports forum.

I like how he says that Manning can't be used as an example because he just said a "good" quarterback, and not the "best." Yet he keeps talking about Belicheck over and over, who is pretty close to Manning in terms of "the best at their position."

[/ QUOTE ]

I havent mentioned anybody named Belicheck

I have a prediction: you dont know much about football.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, I was a letter off. zomg sorry. I have no interest in betting with you, mostly because I am finding you pretty intolerable except in terms of personal amusement. You mentioned "the coach of the patriots" quite a few times actually.

The most amusing thing about your posting is that even if you were right about anything, the manner in which you have tried to go about it has been pretty terrible overall from my perspective.

Lucky for everyone else, they don't have to see it from my perspective. Keep being smarter than me and offering to bet people on anything. Cheers chap.
