Stars $1/2. Villain is bidicha. Hes been aggro in the past and possibly has made moves on me. Flop isn't standard (usually 75/25 bet, check) but with that board texture and his range for calling out of BB I don't particularly like it.

His range out of the blinds to me are pocket pairs (twos through 10s, 78s,89s,J10s,QJs,KQs,AJs,AQ). I think he repops me with AQs even though I raised UTG, though I can't say for sure.
Against that range I'm not loving it. Also, what the hell is with him all of a sudden waking up and raising me? He folds to a push with AQ/AJ and he 3 bets me with AK preflop GUARANTEED. That leaves me hoping its a set, so I guess its a shove. |

Personally I love the turn check. I'm not interested in playing a big pot here and he might look me up with a nine or an eight if he has like 910s,810s (which I failed to include in his range and should have).

OP,
You want to bet the flop here. Checking makes no sense whatsoever. As played, you will want to felt it. If villain is capable of slowplaying a straight, then he is also capable of slowplaying a set and two pair that include an ace are very very likely. You might lose this hand, for sure. But that's ok. What you want to do is analyse the situation and put villain on a handrange and do your betting accordingly. If villain showed up with an underset then you would feel very silly. And I say this to show that one should not be results oriented. What one should be is play oriented, without knowing the results but only having the information that lead up to the individual decisions. |

[/ QUOTE ] The only thing is, isn't villian betting turn with set/two pair almost all the time? There is a three straight on the board, hero's range definitely includes a random jack right? especially if he's checking behind on the flop. If he has a set he's going for the second check raise after the first one missed? that seems unlikely.... |
