Kiwanuka looked awful playing OLB -- slow and lost. That's a real shame since he looked like an awesome prospect at DE last year.

Eli looked very good, though it's hard to say how much of that was the Dallas secondary stinking up the joint.

They didn't have Newman and Roy is horrible in coverage.

Eli and Burress have looked good early the last 2 seasons. Can they maintain? I think with Toomer and Smith and a healthy Shockey, Eli should look better. He really looked bad without Toomer last year.

Is it just me, or are those Cowboys receivers really good? I mean, those guys were fast. I've seen some pretty good receivers before, but those guys were world class.

Does anyone have some cheesesteaks and pot? I need to get in game shape for next week.

This post is obviously fake. As we all know, like the tooth fairy, the Giants' Defense doesn't exist.

I have a feeling that this may be the first and only year of the Kiwi LB experiment. If he doesnt improve I have to imagine that we will move him back to DE where he showed some promise last year.

As for Eli, its certainly true that the depleted Dallas secondary isnt exactly the toughest test. However he was very very accurate with all of his throws last night which was def not the case for a large part of last year. He also didnt seem to get rattled (and start throwing off his back foot) after Dallas got to him a few times.

Hopefully this is the first and only GAME of the Kiwanuka experiment. One of those LBs the Giants pulled off the street a few years back might be better.

not to worry, i'm sure something will come around. New York Giants - 8-8 4LIFE

From Pro Football Weekley:

Giants to turn to Ward with Jacobs sidelined
By PFW staff
Sept. 10, 2007

It appears that there is a silver lining to the Giants’ bad news on Brandon Jacobs. Injured Sunday night against the Cowboys, Jacobs – who is the Giants’ lead back with Tiki Barber retired – suffered an MCL injury to his right knee. But it appears, based on NFL reports, that the ligament is sprained not torn and that he should return in 3-5 weeks . In his place, Derrick Ward, not Reuben Droughns, looked good, rushing for 89 yards on 13 carries and catching four passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Also, it was apparently just reported in Monday Night Countdown that Eli may be out for up to a month.

Separated shoulder for Eli, out for at least a month. Time for the fat man to show us what he's got.

This is pretty damn incredible. Giants D gets smoked + they lose their starting QB and RB. Time to play for that #1 pick.
