I don't see the relevence of the $40K. He could have checked in with one billion. Still doesn't prove that money was in the safe.

This was a crime. I really don't think a casino can and or should be held accountable for a crime committed on their property unless there is a really good reason. Like having master safe keys in an unsecured location where random employess could gain access. Or something like that.

Next thing you know, someone is gonna "lose" $50K shooting dice and expect the casino to reimburse them.

As far as I can see there is zero evidence the casino is at fault here.

Sorry for your loss, btw.

I came back to my room not long after session 1 or 2 to get my camera, opened my room and noticed my safe was open and in lock position

There was damage to the door and they are still running the key codes to the door, Why it's taking so long I don't know. It was a forced entry anyway so that is why it's hard to tell when the thief broke in.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not trying to be the Devil's advocate but how come you didn't mention that your door was forced open in your original post? Sounds like in your orignal post you opened the door and didn't notice anything until you saw your safe was open, but in another post you said that there was forced entry which should have been noticeable when you first opened your door. Maybe you just forgot to mention that part?

[/ QUOTE ]

I said to read my original post sent out in myspace , the pics in the blog have been there since the day of the crime as I said refer to my orig post, where the door jam was damaged.

I appreciate all of the comments and suggestions. As for the myspace , well most Poker Players have a myspace is that new to everyone? Doyle and Todd Brunson have a myspace and so do my buddies Chad Brown, John Phan,Tony G, Liz Lieu all personal friends of mine as you can see from my front page and 100's other Poker Players as well as many Celebs, so I think the myspace has nothing to do with how much or how little money you have.

I am not going to answer any more posts as I am going to get an attorney as the suggestions of my Professional Poker Friends, yes on Myspace and others here! But I do thank most of you for your help and support, everyone is entitled to their opinions but the person that said getting drunk and blowing money is out of line and insulting , the Rio keeps track of every dollar I spend and I never left the grounds of the Rio until this happened and I have lost much more than 30-40k in a weekend before so that is a rediculous statement! As far as posting up, most players that play high limit do this for extra comps and perks it's very normal. As far as those that are Diamond members , you have been the most helpfull as you understand how hotel management treats us. No one called from Hotel Managment for days.

To answer the persons question about the safe it clearly shows in the pictures that the safe is in locked mode while open, so yes it was locked open, when the maid left the room , she cleaned the floor according to her around the safe and it was closed, she would of noticed the wraps, the safe being open and I really don't think she would of been stupid enough to leave a $100 bill behind, C.S.I pulled prints off of everything and took my prints as well of course,There were clearly prints that were on everything. After C.S.I. destroyed my room , they didn't move me. I play poker for a living I play on Team "ProPlayer" with Phil Helmuth and some other Pro's and this is not my 1st trip to Vegas I spend a lot of time there and like another diamond member said leaving that amount of money in a safe is not unusual, infact a very normal practice. I posted this here as a suggestion from Poker Pro Allen Kessler who was one of the 1st people outside of the Rio I told. I never asked anyone to fell sorry for me or want anyone too. I was looking for suggestions as I am not a lawer and was hoping to find others that this has happened too and how they handled it as the Police had said I wasn't the 1st one that had been hit. As for the table robbery , all I know is what the C.S.I. agent said, someone came in that morning, broke through the glass case and stole 10-10k chips, she knows because she was called to investigate, she took a blood sample. That is all I know, but it shows how poor security is , the thief got away and they did not get his face on camera.

Again appreciate all the feedback and wish you all the best.

The orig pictures and posts are on www.myspace.com/rakeking

Have a winning day!-EF

don't think flashing up front cash to host means anything, my Rio host routinely assists his clients with wires to the main cage, or, opening line of credit....why on earth show host cash, they are not impressed with what u bring, only what u play....

I wondered if anyone had thought of tracing the money? Do you know where you got it from? A bank/casino? It is possible that the bills are sequential since they are/were wrapped. If the thief is stupid enough to spend the bills in vegas (at a casino, bank, sportsbook etc.) in the near future, it may be easier to get a line on who stole the money.

I would highly consider contacting an attorney to pursue the hotel. You will possibly need to prove that nobody who YOU told about the 40k stole the money (alibis etc.). Sounds like a [censored] situation, and I'm sorry to hear about it. I always keep all my valuables (a little less than $32k...) in in these safes and have trusted them until now.

GL recovering your money. Hand it to these guys, they deserve it.

Only a complete BOOB brings that kind of cash into a hotel room. Why didn't you just have them put it in a safety deposit box?? What was the point of bringing it to your room?? To feel cool and rich?? U deserve to lose the cash!!

[/ QUOTE ]

that finishes with "or the poster isn't safe to operate message board machinery"

Dids, you are giving out a ban for one poster stating their opinion that what another poster did was not street smart ? Are you aware that this is a gambling forum ? Gambling is all about street smarts.

I might not like it much if someone called me a boob after I lost $32K in a hotel room safe, but I definitely would not want them banned. That's ridiculous, they're entitled to their opinion, and after the dust had cleared, I might even agree with them.

barney gumble posted gay porn on another thread and you didn't ban him, and yet you ban someone for stating an opinion that is just bread and butter for the world of professional gambling.

Are you personal friends with Rakeking ? Is the power going to your head ? What kind of forums do you want these to be ? Like NWP ? I really don't get it.

This isn't the Miss Manners School For Proper Young Ladies forum.

LOLOL, WTF is a 'personal friend'? Why do people always say this when they're trying to claim friendship with celebs? Do you have impersonal friends?
