Sigh @ Fantastic Four butchering Silver Surfer, the only comic book character I really like.

"So how does this work against him?"
"Well you see, you get him here and press this button, and he loses all his powers"

...

WTF?

Then we have Surfer just exploding himself to kill Galactus and somehow powers of Invisibility, Stretchiness, Fire, and Medicore SuperStrength is enough to beat up someone with near infinite cosmic power.

On the bright side every one of the females in the movie are smokin hot. Jessica Alba is a given, but the random news anchor ladies, club girls, random girls in streets etc are all at least 9/10.

Some Like it Hot is pretentious? Really? I mean, it's old, but it's Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in drag with Marilyn Monroe wearing see-through outfits the whole time.

I also fail to see how Spinal Tap is pretentious.

spinal tap, isnt pretentious per se, but in context with the other two movies it is. and some like it hot isnt funny, Im sorry, its entertaining, but no one that is 20 something is going to get any belly laughs out of it like they would out of wedding crashers, etc.

so b/c someone is young that's a reason they won't enjoy what many consider to be one of the greatest comedies ever made? i mean, Wedding Crashers is ok, and it has some moments, but c'mon. next you'll be saying no one under 25 could ever enjoy the Odd Couple

like JoA said, the pretentious argument is a hard one to pin on Some Like it Hot or His Girl Friday

Yes, Im saying that different generations find different things funny, and just because critics tell you it is funny doesn't mean that it is, and that a 20 year old kid who likes wedding crashers, 99% of the time will find it enjoyable, but not belly laugh funny.

Don't have much to say other than that Die Hard was the [censored] balls. Best action movie I've seen in theatres in a pretty long time. Ocean's 13 had a couple really choice funny moments but overall was absolutely terrible.

there is a thread in OOT about a new supersecret movie from the creators of Lost - possibly a monster movie. I'm excited.
