Nath, not sure if you're aware of this, but back in 1984, Al Gore created the internet solely to talk [censored] on people who had achieved a level of success higher than himself.

Since then it's evolved into the porn surfing, gambling haven that society so deseperately needed, but there are still many, including NCA apparently, who still adhere to Gore's original philosophy of [censored]-talking and douchebaggery.

To me the funny part is that they appear to take it seriously. They really think they are "ballas." Like the Magician, they really think the site shows them to be playas. I can't imagine this is meant to be a gimmick site.

As to defending them, I can understand that to a certain degree we defend our own. But, really ... the Crew and Rocks and Rings got reemed here in a big way. If this site wasn't a group of 2+2ers, they'd get it worse than they are now.

Sorry, but for every quote you listed, I can show you 5 or more where I was cheering on the young guns at the WSOP, etc. So, age has nothing to do with it. Sure, I admit to being envious of the success of the young poker players. Who isn't. But not the type of envy that leads to hate ... more like, "damn, that would have been sweet when I was 21." But, I am a 47 year old father of two young boys who coaches soccer, takes his kids camping and fishing, does all the great dad and husband things that don't sound so exciting when you are 21, has a great wife, owns a successful business, and is into poker as a hobby. At this stage in my life I wouldn't trade that for their lifestyle, any more than they would want to trade theirs for mine. So, there is no hating here ... power to them all.

Of the threads you site, there are two themes ...

(1) I throw up a collage of 2+2 photos whenever people on the list start ripping someone for being ugly (said collage gratuitously posted below for no apparent reason other than you don't seem to want me to). I enjoy the "hot or not" threads and comment in them from time to time, but when a bunch of average to less than average looking people (I'll include myself in that group) make fun of others' looks, I think it is a kettle/pot situation that is ripe for a reminder of how dorky most of the posters here look. The irony is wonderful. Age has nothing to do with it other than those whose photos were available in another thread are young guys. Your picture appears in the collage and evidently you took umbrage to my including your mug in a picture of an undeniably scary looking group of people. Sorry. I would also point out that you are the only one who objected to it, with a number of other people finding the collage to be quite funny ... I posted about it you will recall.

(2) The DipSh!tBallas ... even assuming that they are great guys, and it appears that they are from those who know them, their site is deserving of the abuse it gets. No different from the Crew and Rocks and Rings. I didn't see you jumping in on the thousands of posts about those two items and telling people to stop. I have no problem with you defending your own ... but I am certainly not alone in having my fun with their web site. I believe this thread weighs 9 to 1 in favor of ridicule. And the funny thing is, I bet they could care less what I think ... they haven't responded to me ... I think they are out partying while you defend them.

Finally, I don't feel superior to anyone here. Hell, for the most part I'm a fanboy when it comes to poker as it is a hobby to me. But, in case you haven't noticed (hint: read some of your own posts) this site is kinda known for people giving other people grief. Sorry you don't like your picture posted every now and again (which, given your avatar seems kind of odd), but quit stalking me in these threads.
