if ridnour has G elgibility i would seriously consider starting him over hamiliton. hamiliton doesn't give you anything but a ton of points, while ridnour will give you assists, steals, and occassionally some decent 3pts. [/ QUOTE ] This is what I was thinking about. I'm just worried about Ridnour's horrible FG% and increasing TOs. |

i think posters should also post if their playing roto or H2H as i think there are slightly different strategies in these two types of leagues.

aces,
i think you took bibby too early, and personally i'm not really a fan of randolph or battier. good value at the end there though. |

Randolph will have an excellent year. Maybe average a double double.

Hey xorbie,
Bibby was definitely a panic pick. Thanks for responding. I don't want to argue with you because you are volunteering your advice, but I think I should point out, for the sake of others, that Battier is a very underrated fantasy player. I never would have thought it, but then last year, someone in my league asked me if he should trade Duncan for Battier, and I was like "Are you crazy?" Then, I looked at the numbers and realized that it wasn't that far-fetched. TSC, thanks for your response. Any thoughts on what caliber center I should be looking for? suitedducks, thanks for responding. I wish I had advice to offer the rest of you in return, but fantasy basketball is not my specialty. I know hoops, but it doesn't translate well for me. -McGee |

am i missing someting about battier? he gets not many points, assists or boards. he gets a steal and block per, but that's about all he brings to the table. moreover, he's moving to a new team, and you don't really know how he's going to fit in there.

[/ QUOTE ] The new team thing is a good point, although I think this is a better situation for him. In addition to the steal and block per game, he ranked in the top ten in FG% among realistic fantasy options at SF, and he still hits about one three pointer per game. Only LeBron, Marion, Odom, and Wally hit more threes with a better or similar FG%. He's also solid from the line. He just does everything well, and doesn't hurt you anywhere (only one turnover per). -McGee |

aces,
the thing with FG% is that it aggregates by total FG%, not simply average amongst your players. he shoots so little that his good FG% is weighted by less... so he makes 3/7 shots a game but if someone else makes 8/21 it doesn't help all that much. |
