Still, it might be that there are some lingering bugs that are the fault of other developers in my version of the code, so hopefully getting the latest version will help. [/ QUOTE ] Or not. It's been my experience in life as well as in programming that virtually all errors can easily be traced back to the individual who is struggling. [ QUOTE ] The weirdest part of the whole deal is that the program runs successfully, but then it breaks when it's exiting. [/ QUOTE ] Well what about your do loops? Did you check them? |

Re: October Brent and Scott Thread
England and France in the Rugby World Cup semi-finals in less than 6 hours.
I'm letting all the kids stay up to watch. We're getting in a Chinese takeaway, and I've also got marshmallows, popcorn, crisps, chocolate etc to keep the kids awake and hyped up. Got the beer in too, obv. They start their education in international diplomacy tonight, to see how the English should properly treat the French. Also if Argentina win their match, it will be an England vs Argentina final. I'M SO EXCITED! |

Re: October Brent and Scott Thread
And to get in the proper mood for an England vs France match...
This day is called the feast of Crispian: He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian:' Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars. And say 'These wounds I had on Crispin's day.' Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day: then shall our names. Familiar in his mouth as household words Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remember'd; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day. |

That was a good thread about emotional affairs you started, Katy. The problem is that I read it yesterday and went on mega-life-tilt. Couldn't play pokah at all yesterday.
BTW, please put that in best of Mr. Wookie. |

It's gonna be a tough match actually - their defence is pretty damn solid, it'll be an exciting game I hope. |

Re: October Brent and Scott Thread
Phew. I think I got things fixed, but not without another scare. I came in this afternoon to work with my professor, since he offered to hold my hand through some of the multiprocessor stuff. In what I don't think was even 10 minutes time, he found where I'd borked things with respect to allocating memory to the subprocessors after the main processor had figured out how much memory it needed. Great. No problem. Once I saw how things worked, it was an easy fix on only 4 lines of code. Save, recompile, run the test.
And it still breaks. WTF, mate? So my prof and I stare at the code for an hour and can't find anything out of line. He leaves and wishes me luck. Great! I spend the next hour fussing, figuring, fretting, and finagling, but not really finding. But then I look at the test script. Turns out the test script was busted. Well, [censored] you, test script, [censored] you in the ear. I fixed the test script, and the code worked perfectly. Now I've just got to get my tRNA running, and life will be good. |
