On April 23, 1999, Fernando Tatis became the only major league player in history to hit two grand slams in a single inning; he hit both against the same pitcher, Chan Ho Park of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tatis also set a record with eight RBI in the inning.

In 6 pages of this thread not one post about NHL play or statistics, I believe only that Tom Glavine was drafted by the Kings.

Here's a surprising stat (off the top of my head):
Mario Lemieux has more point-per game for his career than Wayne Gretzky. |

Re: random sports stats/facts that surprise you when you first hear th
Jesus, Chan Ho has given up some memorable blasts...I believe he gave up Bonds' #72 & 73, and I think he was the pitcher who served up that fat BP fastball to Cal Ripken, Jr. in the all-star game that one year.
Here's a surprising fact: Chan Ho made over 15 million dollars last year. |

"Mike Vick, Lee Suggs, and Chad Pennington all hold the record for highest yards per reception in one season with infinity(they have receiving yards but no receptions)"
How can this happen? |

[/ QUOTE ] because people don't know enough about the NHL to be surprised by it. did you know that chris osgood has more career wins than ken dryden? there's not much to be surprised about when it comes to hockey. |

Here's a surprising stat (off the top of my head): Mario Lemieux has more point-per game for his career than Wayne Gretzky. [/ QUOTE ] No, Wayne has more points per game (1.921 v 1.883). Although this may be different if you include WHA scoring. I'm pretty sure Wayne was nowhere near 1.9/game in there. Mario has more goals per game though (0.667 v 0.601). |

[/ QUOTE ] before Mario Lemieux came back in 2000-01, this was true. It's also not all that surprising given that Mario retired so long before the end of his best playing days. What'd be surprising was Eric Lindros's points per game - I believe around 2001 he was still 3rd all time behind Gretz and Lemieux. |
