Daut,

One more thing to add to your 1st point is that recreational players don't enjoy the shortstacks either. They like to see more flops and "play poker" and shortstacking disrupts the enjoyment for all the other players.

except for the fact that most recreational players buy in short

This thread is indeed a great advertisement for shortstacking. 25/50 also seems the perfect stake to do it at.. the big buyin regulars are raising a fair amount of subpar hands for deception in order to play perfectly against the other bigstacks, and the shortstacks profit from this.

Btw is it still profitable in 6max?

I really wasn't even going to post anything serious in this thread. But seeing you guys have already inspired 100 people to do what only a few people were doing, i'll say what i have to say.

Online poker is not live poker

ratholing live poker is clearly wrong as there is a rule against it

ratholing online is a function of a the buyin process on the internet There is no rule against ratholing online, only the limitations of the software that every person uses.

I think the sense of entitlement of some of the people that have posted in this thread is almost surreal, this is online poker, people use software and tools beyond most players imaginations to create an uneven playing field... but shorting games is unethical.

I guess i don't really care, a lot of people have PMed me in the last few months about my shorting, people aparently have databases where i'm up a lot, some say i'm down a ton and can't posibly win.

Online poker is about winrates variance and all sorts of other fun stuff, but pride and fame aren't in there as far as i'm concerned. Wanting to change things is fine, and if you do congratulations, but until poker sites change their buyin rules it's certainly not unethical.

What are you shortstackers going to do if they change the rules?
People who are good at 100 + bb NL poker will always find a game to play.
