god damn, just played my longest session in a while. 3.7k hands, +$200 wooooooooooooo. i was playing some of the best poker i have ever played with very few mistakes at all. made one against born2dogbaby, you're welcome for the extra $812..i knew u had JJ/AA, i was thinking JJ was probably more likely..if that's possible. anyway, ran about as terribly as i ever have and i'm pretty [censored] happy to finish this session in the green. even moved up to 10-20 to chase my losses . aka there were a few big fish sitting so i decided to take my money back that i had lost to them at the 5-10 tables. (circle of life?). goodnight (lol 1040am)

so were you losing at 10/20+ ?

[/ QUOTE ]

i was winning at 10/20 from july to the end of november as well as 25/50 (though my sample size isn't really big for that game) when I cashed most of my online roll out due to legislation, then proceeded to blow 25k at wpt niagra and light about 100 grand on fire at 25 50 omaha

to be honest, i dunno if i'll ever move up again...i didnt realize how ez and stress free 12 tabling 400 nl is

I had a horrible start to January where I dropped 11k straight playing 6-max 5/10 on Party, mostly due a bad run of cards but included some tilting too. That made me really sad so I stopped playing for a while and instead started playing HU on FTP, which is what I've been doing to this point.

The sad truth is that my head handles the swings much worse than I would have hoped, and I'm not sure if there's any room for improvement for me in this area. Tilting while running bad is only a small part of the proble, and maybe the biggest issue I'm facing right now is improving my work ethic. Whenever I go on a mini-heater I feel like I've done enough for the day and I want to quit while I'm ahead so my avarage session length is truly pathetic. This combined with the facts that it's much easier to find a game and just jump in in 6-max, and that HU variance is way more intese makes me struggle to get just 1k hands per day in. Furthermore I find myself passing up on a lot of games where I'm almost sure I'd be +EV but not neccessarily by much simply because I know from experience that when two closely mathed opponents go at it, dropping 10 buy-ins in a whim is nothing. The pain of losing is more intense than the pleasure I get from winning, and if my sub-conscious mind could decide all my sessions would be very short and well targeted blitz-strikes vs. the true donkeys so that I could maintain a ridiculous win-rate and avoid any neccessary variance.

Am I just being a vag?

So so true. Especially the part about feeling like you've "done enough" after a short, hot session.

edit: btw I play both of those games too (5/10 6max on Party, HU on FTP), mind sharing your SN?

i absolutely cannot win at 3/6.

which would bother me more except i cant seem to lose at 5/10.

[/ QUOTE ]

just looked it up.

15k hands at 3/6: 22/17, W$SD 52%, -3PTBB/100
18k hands 5/10: 24/18, W$SD 53%, +9PTBB/100

i think 5/10 is just a bit looser because i play more SH there. not really looking for an explanation, its just odd.

since 1/1

3/6 is the only limit I am down lifetime at, limits ranging from .10/.25 to 25/50
