I hate Mahe. I'd have rather seen them give Reed another shot.

I hate Mahe. I'd have rather seen them give Reed another shot. [/ QUOTE ] The thing I hate about Mahe is that Reid tries to get him involved in the offense. Reid: He sucks as a running back. He sucks as a WR. Don't bother. But as a punt returner he's very serviceable. He led the league in return average one year believe it or not ( 2005 ). And he catches the [censored] ball. |

He is so slow and not a good punt return threat at all. But last week cannot happen again. |

Ugh, I was so happy to have Reed back as a KR. I can understand the move, because it was a pretty boneheaded play at the end of the game and the fans are clamoring...but I have to think that if it was the day's only gaffe, and it happened in a less important situation or was recovered by Philadelphia, no changes would have been made. The move was primarily made to show hard evidence that they're trying to improve.
Now they're basically right back where they started, without an electric KR. |

I can't believe the day came where I was happy to hear Reno Mahe is back on the team. I don't think Reed would have been good on KR even. He knee was so [censored] up from that injury he doesn't have anything left.
Its just one game but I hope either Buck or Tony Hunt can give Westbrook some relief. There was a point in the 3rd quarter when they had about 3 drives in a row without a run once they realized Westbrook was above 20 touches already and Buck was sucking ass. |

I'd rather see them give Bloom another shot. I don't think he's very good, but he does have the potential to break one at some point and showed a penchant for being able to catch a damn punt. As far as Mahe goes, you could do worse but he's a suck, and always shall be.
[ QUOTE ] Lewis is atleast a reasonable option as a reciever. Reed brings nothing to the table. [/ QUOTE ] No. He couldn't fill the shoes of Todd Pinkston. He is not an NFL caliber player at any position. |

I'm glad that Kevin Everett is making progress, but after reading The Physics of Big Hits which discusses the violent collisions of kick returns, I'm wondering how much more dangerous punt returns are vs. rushing or passing plays. You don't get the running start on punts that you get on kicks so maybe returning a punt isn't much more dangerous than going out for a pass. No one is suggesting putting Westbrook out there to return kickoffs, but I'm now second guessing myself - maybe Westbrook should be returning punts.

Hey guys,
Remember when we were 0-2 in 2003 and won 12 of 14? with only a 2 and 3 pt loss? And Pinkston as our top WR. Yeah, me too. Sigh. |
