because from what it sounds like from reading posts, there are lots of things that can and do go wrong.

so are they just the small sample that go wrong and public, or is this pretty common?

Probably because people dont want to divulge who is staking whom, and they dont want others to know they are busto or whatever.

raptor, just want to say that makeup is pretty much the worst idea ever (for the reasons I've already outlined). i strongly suggest anyone thinking of a staking agreement to avoid makeup and instead just say that if he busts then you'll either decide to stake him again (no makeup) or you won't. much better than to have it hanging over his head that he'll have to play for makeup and that preventing you from doing a potentially lucrative second staking agreement.

I really disagree with this from a player perspective w/regards to cash. big buyin mtts are one thing but the if the backer isn't really taking any risk, just fronting the money, it's basically a loan with an awful lot of vig on it.
