I don't think it was 'hurting'. I think Beckett said he was tightening up. It was nothing major from what I recall.

When Wake gets that down and out movement like he did on the pitch that struck out Hafner, he can be absolutely unhittable. Then again, the next pitch to VMart didn't look like it had any movement at all. We'll see how it goes, but I like what I see so far.

The crowd is really into this. Unusual for baseball but I think the Sox have to score to get this crowd out of the game.

I think that's the first time I've seen Byrd use the double windup. Ortiz looked a little fooled. Didn't even know you could do that.
