lmao, those chip colors are putting me on tilt just looking at the pics...can't imagine how pissed I'd be if I was in this thing.

"You got any light orange ones back there? How about really, really light orange?"

Lance Funston (of the USPC fame) would've gone mad there.

just thought i'd share a bit on Ray Rahme

he is one of the top tournament players in South Africa and currently leads the tourney leader board on one of our local sites. He also came 4th in the latest all africa poker tournament (where he won the wsop seat) for ZAR150 000 (just over $21 000)

BUMP! GO RAY!!!!

They have a 25K chip AND a 50K chip and all three chips are a shade of the same color? And I thought the card fiasco was the dumbest mistake ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

Every time somebody mentions this chip color thing it blows my mind even more. It must have been an intentional thing, for whatever reason I have no idea. I can see two, but THREE chips of almost identical color and in order of of denomination!?!?!? So bizarre.

I seem to recall somebody posting a link in the Internet forum a while ago about some casinos essentially putting computerized poker in their rooms - online poker, but live. While it would obviously make for less flashy television, that just seems to me like an awesome way to do things for tournaments of this scale. You'd speed up the number of hands, fiascoes like this one wouldn't occur, etc. Obviously there are tons of purists out there who wouldn't want something like this to occur, but it definitely seems like it would make things simpler.

What would players do if they didn't have cards and chips to fiddle with? I would be on tilt after about 5 minutes of looking at a computer screen.

Well, you could conceivably do some kind of hybrid thing where people were getting cards and you just got rid of the chips. Obviously I don't expect this to ever happen, and I expect I'm solidly in the minority for even thinking it might be good.

I've wondered about that too... it would speed things up considerably and eliminate dealer mistakes, etc. I'm sure everyone would miss the chip riffling but maybe appreciate things moving along faster.

Just put a clock on the tables FFS. You get one minute to act, then a 30 second countdown. 5-minute staredowns every other hand are ridiculous.

If you Google "Rain Khan" you'll read his amazing story of playing up to 43 single-table sit-and-goes at once and getting banned by Poker Stars as a "bot."

Over/under on the number of simultaneous SnGs he will be reported as have played by the time FT rolls around?

I'm just reading through things now and have no idea what happens.

This is so much better than trying to read pokernews, cardplayer, et al because there is generally a big spoiler as you open the page but reading the thread it's an actual story unfolding.

A BIG HUDGE THANX to everybody that contribute with updates and everything else and makes these threads great.
