Wow, what an experience at the ballpark today. Standing ovations for the out of town scoreboard. Lets Go Marlins chants. (TY MARLINS!!!!) Some nervous energy early, but then the Phillies took control and it was all gravy. Rollins cemented the MVP (imo) with his triple. In all honesty, I wouldn't vote for him, but I think he will win. Fans slowly got louder and louder in the 6th, 7th and 8th, and then the 9th was timed perfectly with the Mets loss. Myers comes in, lights out, ty, gg, see you Wednesday.

There were a couple kids sitting in front of us, maybe 8 years old, and they were sitting when everyone else was standing and going nuts in the 9th. I said to them, "stand up and look around boys, it might be twenty years before you see this again."

[censored]-a, man. I have no voice, and got a sweet sunburn and it was an awesome game to attend. The standing O for the out of town scoreboard in the 1st when the Marlins dropped the 7 spot was great.

We hung around after the game for some of the post-game excitement, which was quite memorable. Players spraying the first few rows of the crowd with beers/champaign, high-5ing everyone, and in general showing a ton of gratitude to the fans in attendance. I especially enjoyed "Real Deal" Durbin after the game wandering around with about 6 beer bottles stuffed into the pockets of his uniform. Oh, and the drenching of the chicks (ball girls, reporters, decent looking EMS chick and assorted hot player wives/gfs) on the field with beer too. The best post game moment, however, had to be Harry K's rendition of "High Hopes" with the crowd singing along. Very good times.

J-Roll is the MVP, no doubt in my mind. Fielder and Holliday might have better power numbers but Rollins is the Phils team MVP on both sides of the ball, carried them through the injuries to Howard and Utley and gets style points for calling it in January.

Overall, great time. Second best baseball game I've ever attended (1993 NLCS game 6 is still #1).

Go Phils!! The Padres have to burn Peavy Monday. Phils should go Kendrick Hammels Loshe Kendrick Hammels. I'm loving it if they have to face the Padres, still a little scared of the Rockies.

[/ QUOTE ]

I assume it will be Hamels on 4.5 days rest, Kendrick, Lohse/Moyer, Hamels, Kendrick.
