What's the problem?

Do you understand the Prisoner's Dilemma?

If so, you are doing 5 rounds of the prisoner's dilemma against the same person. After each round, you'll find out what your opponent did last round. After 5 rounds, you have a final score. Winner advances, loser is out. If there's a tie, both are out.

It's setup like a bracket, so the second stage would have the 4 winners of round one facing off in the same setup, and then a final.

Last person standing wins. If everyone is eliminated via ties, then there is no winner.

The problem is of course that I do not remember what the prisoner's dilemma is.
And I didn't want to google it since I assume there are some algorithms to play it optimally since it sounds like a Game Theory problem.
