Would have been cool to hang with you Al, hopefully next time.

I posted an Omaha hand that I think is interesting on a few levels. I know a number of posters here have been playing some Omaha lately, Devin, others.

BTW, against the bare straight on the turn, guesstimate the equity, then run some numbers at two dimes, you might be surprised.

TYTYTY for the input.

My simple thinking! He's as likely to have a bigger pair as a smaller one, so I only need to think about AK. Against AK I'm more likely to win if he only sees three cards. So I think best play is call/shove.

Doc, thanks for the numbers ... I know I'm ahead of his range, but is the % advantage enough to compensate for the risk? Fold I get $67, so I have to put myself in a position to win an extra 67 of equity if I call. But the structure means that I need 3 times my chips to get the extra 67, and I can only double up here. Equity gained by a race doesn't seem to compensate for equity lost.

Call/fold doesn't commit me. I can still lose and take the 67 plus the opportunity I have to regain the chips.

Good point about my reads Lacky, trust me, this guy was not pwning the bubble! But he could have been, hence my shove ...

It was in retrospect that I was convinced that call/shove here is the better play. Er ... obv it sucks, but I'm used to bubbling and emotionally adjusted ... new keyboards are cheap anyway

I'd fold this pretty quickly pf. Set mining with bad jacks is pretty unprofitable, especially when you can expect a multiway pot (a big difference between hold em and plo is the value of sets in multiway pots). I'm also betting this flop everytime.

Also, Peru, folding QQ there is not good.
His range is AQ+, TT+, so you are a 55:45 favorite, plus pot odds.
A fallacy that people make when facing a range like AK, KK+, is that they should look for flops that come low and fold otherwise. However, you are only felting J or lower flops against hands that have you crushed. Like against JJ+ on a 9 high flop you are a 2:1 dog.
Here, he might felt AK against you unimproved, but it's still better to get it all in pf. And of course, things only get better as you add hands to his range (bluffs) which can always happen.

also peru, imo, the call shove works best when you can bet about the size of the pot, and hold mid pairs. then, if the flop has an A or K you can often fold out higher pairs.

With QQ, you really arent making anything you were behind fold, which is the whole point of it, making better hands fold sometimes
