I've already corrected myself once about this wording.

I mis-spoke. The idea I was trying to convey was that it is pointless to direct outrage at ZJ directly, and that the ZJ's and his actions are are product of the entire poker scene's evolution.

Matasow is a felon. Do the math.

Not to detract from your idea, I think it's good. I doubt that it can be implemented, though. The best you can hope for is a book like the Griffin agency has, and that may not be that effective.

It's going to be very hard to enforce. Plus, it's going to be very hard to come up with a comprehensive standard of what all the "angles" are and then make it stick.

Would anyone mind if a really poor player entered a tournament with more than one account, thereby adding additional dead money to the pot? Assume someone who had little chance of making it into the money.

[/ QUOTE ]

C'mon, Tom. Of course they would. There's no muddling of this issue. It's not a gambling question. It's a simple principle: NO CHEATING ALLOWED.

That is a good post.

I'd like to point out the reason I am happy this happened, it is not because I like to see these two guys lose 100k plus each, it is because what they are doing is wrong, and it affects the games (both now and in the future) for honest people, on top of this you know that if Party didn't keep the money they would learn zero from this. I only hope that both of them realise that they deserved to lose the money and can somehow take something positive out of it, and maybe grow up a little.

I also hope they catch up with anyone else doing this, and soon. I'm sure you can see why, if not then that is regrettable.

Regards Mack

Ok, I see that. That's why I air it first. Do you have any suggestion for the main components of such a standard?

I am planning to contact the WSOP organisation in order to make them work together with the sites, to establish a blacklist, to get Zeejustin and other cheaters banned for life from entering WSOP-tournaments. (I will give JJProdigy the benefit of the doubt due to his young age and immaturity (for him thus the punishment would be too harsh) The reason I will do this, is that I think it will deter people from cheating as playing in WSOP is a dream for many online tourney players. Reasons I have found so far for WSOP taking these steps:
-publicity regarding a cheater playing in the WSOP-tournies will damage the image of the WSOP-tournies
-publicity regarding a cheater placing high in the WSOP-tournies may lead to players questioning the integrity of the WSOP-tournies, thus leading to a lower turnout.
-lifetime banning will be a strong signal to send to the player community that no cheating online is tolerated, thus more players are inclined to play online satelites, thus leading to higher turn out.

Any other reasons I can use?

[/ QUOTE ]

How about -

- It could be detrimental to the health of the cheater to be in the same building as thousands of people he ripped off?

How about if Dutch Boyd can still play in the WSOP, you aren't going to get ZJ kicked out.

OK, I see that now. Thanks for your clarification. Sorry I didn't see it before I made my post.

I disagree with your clarified point. There is a benefit to directing outrage towards him specifically. It tells him and society that his conduct specifically and that type of conduct in general is completely unacceptable. That's very important. It's a large component of enforcing social morality, laws, etc. Aside from monetary consequences, the embarrasment and damage to reputation one experiences from violating certain rules can act as a very effective deterrent, which is highly desirable.

Default Re: My Statement

When you say "constructive" I imagine you are talking about not doing things like calling huge groups of poker players lemmings, and referring to them as "pathetic" because they are outraged at being cheated. I and many others play poker online ALL THE TIME and to think that we are being cheated pisses us all off. If your not pissed, it probably means that you are cheating too, or are simply devoid of any reason and therefore don't care that YOU have yourself been cheated.

www.zeejustin.com

This kid reaks of arrogance and some kind of superiority complex, he probably uses his money to run around the local mall badgering 16 year old girls saying "hey baby! im rich, and for me, your still legal! YeHaw!". Welcome back to earth you nerdy brat, enjoy your poker career now!

ps. I wonder if he has like 20 forum accounts... That would explain all the "Hey! He was just doin wht it takes to win YO! Stop Hatin on a brotha! LOL!"
