Villain seems to be a TAG. The table as a whole is nittish, I've been getting decent cards, so have done a lot of stealing lately. I wanted to make it known that even if they think I'm light, its going to be expensive to play back at me. Still, this is AA like 100%, right?

The fold is vomitous, or what? Naughty as in a good, "you naughty monkey way," or what?

I'm used to more aggro games since I'm coming from 10/20 sh limit.

EDIT: I mean, if he ever does this with AK or JJ, then I have to go for it from an EV standpoint since I'm about 4:1. But is this ever AK or JJ? Do you guys call with any pair here if you'll call with QQ?

lol you have to call $22 into a pot of $100.. you're getting almost the price to call if he flips up AA (like $10 deeper and it'd be gravy I think) and this is assuming he doesn't ahve AK, JJ, or whatever.

If you're not willing to call a shove then I don't think you should 4-bet.. makes sense.

OK, so call 22 in that spot as well. I guess I didn't really think about what I was doing with my reraise other than putting the pressure back on him. Also, just to pathetically justify it more, this is always always AA, right?

Since he never calls or shoves without a better hand, I turned my hand into a bluff. Got it. But what's the worst hand you call a shove with here? Is it 22? AKs? JTs?

you have position. 4-betting gets rid of that advantage, although his 3-bet destroys much of your positional advantage anyway (e.g., pot is $17 on flop and he (almost always) c-bets about 13-17 into it). playing for set value after he 3-bets won't be +EV (you're putting in $6 on what is roughly 10 to 1 odds, since your set can get counterfeited, he can make higher set/straight/flush etc).

so, assuming villain has not been getting out of line and is one of the many nitty/taggy regulars out there, you're kinda screwed, but you're much less screwed calling than you are 4-betting.

two other things:

a) you might not really have the aggro-stealer image that you think you have. it's expected at nl that CO/button (and to a lesser extent, the sb) will steal, and most of us don't really care. we'll fold most our hands and steal when it's our turn; once in a blue moon we'll resteal for some free chips (i'm talking about most regulars)

b) if you're stealing alot, there is no rush to play back at you. we (meaning regulars) will wait til we get AA-QQ and repop you (and since you are in a steal position 3 out of 6 times, chances are decent that we'll get the hand when you are stealing)

I don't 4-bet QQ against a TAG for this reason. Only things that come along with you are AA and KK. It's true that most flops you won't get away from it if the flop comes all rags, but there are a lot of flops that will actually save you.

For example, assume villain does have AA: he 3bets, you call, flop comes Axx. You either donkbet or c/r and he shoves, you can easily get away and save a sizeable portion of your stack. Or if the flop comes something like KJx and he shoves. There's no question you're beat. Queens and Jacks are tricky in this way w/ 3bets and 4bets, so I never mind seeing a flop with them first.

Horrible fold dude, check out the odds you've given yourself. If your folding to a shove, don't do a 3bet.

Run it through pokerstove.

On the 23rd June i'll be back, and i shall PWNNNNN NL$50, NL$100, NL$200 full time.

Cya then!
