Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Gabbard is great as a spot starter. He missed a ton of spots last night and left a fair amount of pitches where they should have been crushed. I would have said that most good teams would crush, however I would dread having to watch the Red Sox hit against such a soft-tossing lefty who can't hit his spots and has had no success at the MLB level.

[/ QUOTE ] pretty much. not to mention he had a favorable strike zone and got the royals to GIDP like seventeen times. he ran good. it was fun to watch and i definitely appreciated the contribution... decent chance he'll be more useful than tavarez going forward, but that's kinda faint praise. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Pedroia is really playing well, home run and great D yesterday. The Sox have had some tough luck lately, when they lose its by one run. I saw the final Toronto game, lots of hard hit balls and one run. That's baseball.
KC can beat you if you let them, they came in 10 wins in last 16 and they have been beating Sox lately. Gabbard has improved in each start, he only walked 2 struck out 9 in this gem. But still nice to see Shill in the practice pitches, he was firing it in it hard and says shoulder feels better than it has all year. |

Its just incredibly boring for some reason [/ QUOTE ] seems like any other game to me... sox making solid contact against some AAA nobody, hitting line drives right at everyone, meanwhile the only three hits the suckbag opponents put up always come in quick succession and lead to runs. what's not to like? |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Obviously hoping for the Sox to come back, but it'll be interesting to see who gets credited with the win for the Royals if they hold the lead.

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Unreal how good Lugo looks at the plate all of a sudden. He just might hit .350 for the second half.
