That doesn't make sense [/ QUOTE ] No, he's saying Prime Pedro had the best stuff, after Prime Pedro there was (some pitcher). Then he saw Carmona. The last time he saw someone move the ball like Carmona was Prime Pedro, who had the best stuff. Hence, Carmona has the best stuff since Prime Pedro. |

Re: ALCS - Indians vs Red Sox
Carmona's only 23 so his baseball legacy is TBD. We know that Pedro was sensational for a period of time so we can talk about his baseball legacy. Comparing Carmona to Pedro is silly and I agree that Carmona will in all likelyhood not have the type of years Pedro had. This has little to do with the current Red Sox-Indians series. Long way to go in the current series. Byrd is certainly hittable as is Wakefield but I think the Red Sox probably have the advantage in tonight's game starting pitching wise. Looks like the Red Sox need to get to the Indians starter early and vice versa i.e. the Indians need to get to the Red Sox starters early.

MLB should make it illegal for teams to hand out [censored] white towels to the fans in the outfield for the same reason that Fenway has to cover seats in centerfield [/ QUOTE ] Just using your quote as a lead in for my comment. I thought the Cleveland fans were great last night. You could feel the electricity in that place. |

And I apologize for the totally unnecessary personal insult, but when somebody who's intelligence I often call into question makes a comment so ridiculously dumb, I become speechless and say things like "you're stupid"
so there. And no, I'm from New Hampshire, but I went to Penn State. |

Tonites game is the key to the Series. Whoever wins tonite wins the series imo.

man the ump sucked tonight. and i'm not saying that as a 'we got screwed comment,' we mostly sucked. the ump was basically so bad i don't think he benefited anybody, everyone was just like 'wtf yo?' [/ QUOTE ] i was on the home run porch on the rail for the entirety of the game. i couldn't tell if the ump was inconsistent or if perhaps i just had significant difficulty determining inside/outside from my angle. i mean, i had a hunch it was the former, which has since been confirmed by several sources. also, this atmosphere was unreal. unfortunately, i was standing right in front of a female who was advising manny to do some anatomically impossible things, but c'est la vie. an absolutely great experience, and as long as you're actually on the rail, the home run porch is an outstanding place to watch a game. mind you, to stay on the rail, you can't piss or leave to get any food/drink stuffs. |
