Also, lol at americans for calling the French pussies because of their refusal to support the war in Iraq. Seems to me that the British and other coalition countries (including Iceland with it's one soldier in Iraq) were the pussies because we bowed to the will of the US. It takes balls to stand up to the only superpower left and tell them to go [censored] themselves with their pointless, stupid and illegal war.

Obviously, the french were outdated in their military strategy during WWII. Their idea of war was a static affair with clearly defined fronts. So they built the Maginot Line on the German and Italian border which was supposed to stop any invasion of a large and lumbering army.

In the meantime, the Germans had invented blitzkrieg, utilizing the mobility of modern armor, mechanized infantry and air support. And of course they completely avoided the Maginot Line by going through Belgium. Way to leave the back-door unlocked.
