You don't have to start a RB and the best you could do was Marshawn Lynch?

[/ QUOTE ]

You have to start 2 RB's, and I have Rudi Johnson and Maurice Jones Drew - didn't need help with those picks.

I'd love feedback on how I did - this is only my second Fantasy Draft to participate in. We use standard ESPN scoring and start a QB, RB, Flex(RB or WR), WR, WR, TE, D/ST, K.

1.2 Steven Jackson Stl RB
2.23 Ronnie Brown Mia RB
3.26 Marc Bulger Stl QB
Definite reach here. I only take a QB here if Palmer or Brees fall to me, which is pretty unlikely. Wayne would have been really good here and given you a very nice set of WRs
4.47 Lee Evans Buf WR
5.50 Anquan Boldin Ari WR
Good pickups
6.71 Todd Heap Bal TE
7.74 DeAngelo Williams Car RB
8.95 D.J. Hackett Sea WR
None of these really do much for me. I would have looked for Santonio Holmes somewhere around the 8-9 round
9.98 Chargers D/ST
Too early imo
10.119 Brett Favre GB QB
Pretty good pickup here. I don't mind him as your #1 guy coupled with another guy like Rivers, just kind of reinforces the Bulger reach
11.122 Matt Jones Jax WR
Don't see him doing much. Who else was available? I'd rather look for guys with upside than someone like Matt Jones
12.143 Muhsin Muhammad Chi WR
13.146 Daniel Graham Den TE
14.167 Giants D/ST
Don't like teh backup tight end of defense
15.170 Matt Stover Bal K
16.191 Michael Turner SD RB
Great snag here

I think I may have misstepped on my 3rd round pick with Bulger. Everyone was hopping on QB's and I may have fallen into that trap. Some stud WR's were still out there like T. Holt, L. Fitzgerald, and Reggie Wayne. QB's that had been picked up were Manning, Brees, Palmer, McNabb, and Brady. Bulger may have also been a bad pick b/c I've got Steven Jackson. I'm not sure really.

kyro and spellman,
Thanks for the feedback. So is the general consensus that with the exception of the top 3 QB's (Manning, Brees, Palmer) it doesn't really make much of a difference. What I mean by this is the value of say a #5 QB isn't much more valuable than a #10 - #15 QB? Also, next year I shouldn't worry about backup TE's or D/ST's. I'm assuming that this is because someone will be available for pickup and I'm likely only playing these backups for one game, correct?

My FBG $35,000 contest entry. Each week you automatically play your top QB, top 2 RB, top 3 WR, top TE, top R/W/T flex, top K, and top D.

Passing touchdowns are worth 6 and RBs get .5 PPR, WRS 1 PPR, and TE's get 1.5 PPR.

QB - Joey Harrington ATL (bye: 8) - $6
QB - Daunte Culpepper OAK (bye: 5) - $4
QB - David Garrard JAX (bye: 4) - $2
RB - Steven Jackson STL (bye: 9) - $60
RB - Reggie Bush NO (bye: 4) - $45
RB - Brandon Jacobs NYG (bye: 9) - $26
RB - Anthony Thomas BUF (bye: 6) - $4
WR - Laveranues Coles NYJ (bye: 10) - $25
WR - Santonio Holmes PIT (bye: 6) - $14
WR - Ronald Curry OAK (bye: 5) - $8
WR - Arnaz Battle SF (bye: 6) - $5
WR - Patrick Crayton DAL (bye: 8) - $3
WR - Dennis Northcutt JAX (bye: 4) - $1
TE - Todd Heap BAL (bye: 8) - $26
TE - Randy McMichael STL (bye: 9) - $11
PK Josh Brown SEA (bye: 8) - $2
PK John Kasay CAR (bye: 7) - $1
PK Jay Feely MIA (bye: 9) - $1
TD Minnesota Vikings MIN (bye: 5) - $3
TD Arizona Cardinals ARI (bye: 8) - $1
TD Tennessee Titans TEN (bye: 4) - $1
TD Cleveland Browns CLE (bye: 7) - $1

Not super excited about the line-up... it's hard to get a lot of quality players with only $250 to spend. I like Jackson/Bush/Jacobs and Coles/Holmes/Heap should be nice with PPR. I tried to make sure no one shared a bye week.

Anyone else submit an entry?

[/ QUOTE ]

Weird format, and i dont particularly like your team. Dont like your Qbs or receivers at all, even though I think Crayton and Northcutt are good values. Under this format though, that probably wont matter. Minnesota defense was a good pick, but the other defenses are gonna be awful, so Minnesota basically will start every week. I dont know, I dont like your team.

Big trade over the weekend...league specs and team below..

10 team Auction League,, PaTD= 5pt Ru+ReTD= 6pt 1 PPR

Lineup 2RB/3WR/1TE (can be 2WR + 2TE)

QB
Romo
Cutler

My RB's

Bush
Jones-Drew
Adrian Peterson (vikes)
J Lewis
L Betts
V Morency

WR's

Houshmandzadeh (championship)
Plaxico
M Clayton
J Cotchery
V Jackson
A Gonzalez

TE's
T.Gonzalez
K Winslow

guy offered me S Jackson for Jones-Drew, Peterson, and Housh.

I took it because #1 Bush and Jones-Drew have the same bye week, #2 I am deep enough in WR where I can afford to lose Housh although he is my best by far. #3 I can play 2 TE's if need be. #4 PPR league, so Jackson and Bush in the backfield can make up for my crap receiving core.

Seems like a no-brainer right? Guy who had Steven Jackson literally had no other RB (Droughns was his starter along with him) was pretty desperate for another somehow.

Reposting this b/c I would like some more feedback. Thanks a billion:

Alright here is my draft. This is the league that I told everyone about last week when I asked for help w/ a draft strategy--it's a strange league b/c we start 2 QBs and it's a PPR league. We also play 2 RBs, 3 WRs, a flex(RB/WR), a TE, K, D. 10 teams. I was hoping to get Reggie Bush/Carson Palmer at #9/#12 but someone took Carson Palmer/Drew Brees at #10/#11 after Joseph Addai went #3 and Peyton Manning went #5. I'll post the entire draft if there is interest.

1.9 Reggie Bush
2.12 Rudi Johnson (He is Mr. Consistent so I thought this was pretty good value...next few picks were Tom Brady, Laurence Maroney and Steve Smith...Shaun Alexander didn't go until 19th...should I have taken him?)
3.29 Larry Fitzgerald
4.32 Javon Walker
5.49 Lee Evans
6.52 Matt Leinart (heavy rush on QBs after Palmer/Brees went, not much I could do here since we start 2 of them and I hadn't taken one here...next QBs taken were Jay Cutler and Matt Schaub)
7.69 Vincent Jackson
8.72 Alex Smith (didn't like this at all, and I think I really screwed up by taking him over J.P. Losman...Brett Favre, Ben Roethlisberger and Jake Delhomme were also available)
9.89 Jamal Lewis (I thought this was really good value...I took him over Jerious Norwood and Ladell Betts and Fred Taylor)
10.92 Santonio Holmes (another good value pick)
11.109 Jerry Porter
12.112 Jason Campbell (homer pick, plus I needed a 3rd QB)
13.129 Alge Crumpler (I thought this was an absolute steal since he is pretty much Joey ERRington's only option)
14.132 Rueben Droughns (pretty bad 4th RB I think)
15.149 Mike Furrey
16.152 Neil Rackers
17.169 Jaguars D

So my team is:

QB-Matt Leinart
QB-Alex Smith
QB-Jason Campbell

RB-Reggie Bush
RB-Rudi Johnson
RB-Jamal Lewis
RB-Rueben Droughns

WR-Larry Fitzgerald
WR-Javon Walker
WR-Lee Evans
WR-Vincent Jackson
WR-Santonio Holmes
WR-Jerry Porter
WR-Mike Furrey

TE-Alge Crumpler
K-Neil Rackers
D-Jaguars

I take SA over Rudi, but I really want a QB with one of my top 3 picks in this league
3.29 Larry Fitzgerald
interested to know which QB's were avail here
4.32 Javon Walker
5.49 Lee Evans
interesting you take evans before walker in PPR

6.52 Matt Leinart (heavy rush on QBs after Palmer/Brees went, not much I could do here since we start 2 of them and I hadn't taken one here...next QBs taken were Jay Cutler and Matt Schaub)

16.152 Neil Rackers
17.169 Jaguars D

This league is super deep. I think QB is definitely your weak point. I'd like to see which QB was avail with your 3rd pick. Maybe taking brady there at 2.2 was the right move. Team is pretty solid though.

There's nothing at $1 and you HAVE to field 22 players and spend under $250. I couldn't just knock off the other defenses and purchase a better one. So rather than get $1 running backs that will get 10 touches all year, I rather get a bunch of defenses, since they are random and basically only need 1 of them to score a TD for them to start. Remember, it's the BEST player/team to start after the week is over.

Did you submit an entry? I'd love to see other teams. I'm not extremely happy with mine, but the format is harder than it seems.

Oh, and my strategy with QBs was to get 3-4 starters rather than 1 stud. $12 on 3 starters seems pretty good to me... for example, if I wanted Mark Bulger I'd have to spend $25 + some $$ on a backup during his bye week. I don't think Bulger will double the amount of points the top QB on my team will get every single week. My QBs are super risky... but I don't think you can cash in the tournament without taking some risks.

Yeah I don't like my QBs. Brady, Bulger, McNabb, Romo and Hasselbeck were taken between my Rudi J. and Fitzgerald picks. Brady was taken at #13.

Vince Young, Jon Kitna, Eli Manning and Phil Rivers were all available when I selected Fitzgerald.

BTW, when you write "this league is super deep" did you mean "this team is super deep"? If so, thanks.

I meant you have 11 starting positions. That's alot. But, yeah I like your team. Depending on how the QB scoring is, I may have gone Kitna/Young with the 3rd.

Hmmm... I'm wondering if I should have avoided Jackson and upgraded a WR and got 2-3 mid-level backs instead.
