2. Maroney, Laurence NEP RB
I don't mind the 8th pick. I had it in a 10 team league and left with these two backs and was very content with the picks
3. James, Edgerrin ARI RB
See comments below
4. Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR
Good pick
5. Bulger, Marc, St. Louis STL
I'm not huge on Bulger, but he's a good pick here. It leaves you hurting on WRs though
6. Brown, Reggie PHI WR
7. Edwards, Braylon CLE WR
A little bit rough combo if you have to start 3 imo
8. Stallworth, Donte' NEP WR
I would have went elsewhere, who was available. I prefer someone with more upside like Santonio Holmes if he's available
9. Davis, Vernon SFO TE
10. Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK
11. Broncos, Denver DEN Def
Both reaches imo. Get some WR depth
12. Rivers, Philip, San Diego QB
Great QB tandem
13. Betts, Ladell WAS RB
Good pickup
14. Crumpler, Alge ATL TE
15. Seahawks, Seattle SEA Def
blah blah, you can see my comments about backup TEs and Ds in plenty of other drafts I've looked at
16. Meachem, Robert NOS WR

[/ QUOTE ]

What's your league format? Flex spot? Edge is great value there in the third, but if you start 3WRs and no flex I don't think I can pass up a great WR there.

Lewis in 6th = :/

I like VY over Rivers/Manning (who should be there). Dallas Def in 11th is awful.

Overall, looks good though.

My first real Fantasy football draft.

10 team league with standard scorring I took over at team from last year and my two keepers were Carson Palmer and Roy Williams.

I had the fifth pick and my draft looked like this.

1 (5) Willie Parker
2 (16) Thomas Jones
3 (25) Anquan Boldin
4 (36) Cadallac Williams
5 (45) Reggie Brown
6 (56) Clinton Portis
7 (65) Alge Crumpler (everyone was taking TE really early and I wanted to pick him before I had less choices)
8 (76) Jay Cuttler
9 (85) Philadelphia Deffense (same as TE reason)
10(96) Donte Stallworth
11(105)Daniel Owens
12(116)Jason Elam
13(125)Carolina Defense
14(136)Vincent Morency

I feel I stuck to my plan well through round five but then got worried about filling my roster and took a few things to early.

What do you guys think?

Crumpler at 7 is fine. Everything looks good there, except, of course, taking multiple defenses.

As I've said on another board I visit, if lots of people are taking a position early (in this case TE's), it means that there's less people to possibly take them in the subsequent rounds, so it's probably better to take a RB/WR now as you'll be getting a bit better value than you would do ordinarily, and value for that position will drop more in the next couple of rounds.

Example - in my main (12-team) league, five (yes, five) QB's had gone in the first two rounds (Manning, Brees, Brady, Bulger, Kitna). Palmer had gone by the time it was my third round pick as well. So there was little point in taking a QB any time soon as there's so much better value elsewhere and I'm happy to wait, and got Leinart/Cutler in 8/9. 13th and 15th QB's taken but picking earlier would have required me to reach (i.e. if I wanted McNabb/Hasselbeck I'd need to take them in 4, Young in 5, Losman/Romo/Favre in 6), so I'll take better WR's than I'd expect.

[edit - having said that, Crumpler isn't bad at 7]

This is my other $$$ draft. I would love some feedback. Standard Yahoo scoring which includes 4 points per TD reception and no PPR. 10 teams. Lots of trash talking/money to be won so I really need to do well in this league. Obviously I waited too long to get a QB and I have no backup. I was hoping to get McNabb in the 6th round but he went 5 spots before me. Then I was planning to take Jon Kitna in the 10th round but he went three spots ahead of me. Also I didn't draft a defense...I'm dropping Turner to pick one up.

1.5 Joe Addai (top 4 were LT, SJ, LJ and SA)
2.16 Brandon Jacobs (wasn't thrilled w/ this....next four were Steve Smith, Portis, Benson, Marvin Harrison).
3.25 Terrell Owens (over Wayne, Roy Williams and Chad Johnson)
4.36 Marques Colston (over Fitzgerald and Evans)
5.45 Deuce McAllister
6.56 Laveraneus Coles
7.65 Darrell Jackson
8.76 Vincent Jackson
9.85 Brandon Jackson
10.96 Santonio Holmes
11.105 Greg Jennings (you're probably noticing a common theme here....all the RBs left were [censored])
12.116 Jerry Porter
13.125 Michael Turner
14.136 Jason Hanson
15.145 J.P. Losman
16.156 Randy McMichael

I can't add in return yards, but this is how the draft board looks with this scoring

RB's score less than we in this league excepting lt sjax and bush.

I mostly agree w/ that philosophy; though to some extent it comes down to player preference. I think McNabb is significantly better than the others & not a reach at all in the 4th round. Kitna/Bulger in the 2nd are obv.
