I'm not a big Radiohead fan, but figured I'd give it a try. I'm glad I didn't pay a dime for it.

Wait. Isn't Radiohead that band that used to be pretty damn awesome back in the days of "The Bend" and "OK Computer", but then started sucking it up royally with pointless experimentation, which obviously gave them the seal of approval from Indie hipsters who only like music that is too obscure/weird to actually listen to, like Sonic Youth, and now they're out with a new album?

I'm through one listen, and I think it's great. my guess is that is ends up behind OKC, Kid A, and Amnesiac, and somewhere close to HTTF and The Bends and it will just depend on how much you personally like traditional rock vs the more subdued/electronic stuff

On a slightly related story Madonna is leaving Warner Brothers to sign a ten year deal with - a touring company. Yes, she can make more with a touring company than she can with a traditional record label. Signing bonus of 18mil + roughly 17 mil advance for each of 3 albums. The deal includes stock and the balance will be paid out upon touring.

Warner declined to match the offer, but they did try to strike a sweetheart deal with Ticketmaster to find a way to match the deal,of course its not in Ticketmaster's best interest since they normally don't have to share the revenue like this. Oddly Warner still gets one more album and a greatest hits package with her existing deal - AT THE AGE OF 49!
