The subject line is ambiguous, and judging by the responses I think a lot of people are interpreting it as I did, in which "single" means "not dating anyone but their hand" and then citing some personal issues/deformities as the reason(s) why. Single = having no ties to one particular girl, if you consider "dating" single, than Im not single, but thats a dumb definition imo. classes of commitment imo: marriage girlfriend dating cuz hound loser/socially inept

i just broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years. she wanted to get married.
anyway i'm single now. it's alright. haven't been single in a long time (was in a long term relationship before the one i just got out of) and i'm going to probably keep it this way. pros: [x] have some money [x] in decent shape, always in the gym and getting better [x] have nice clothes [x] am a jerk to women which they love [x] have a ballin' downtown office cons: [x] i am not white [x] i live in seattle where there are not a lot of single women [x] my car is a piece of dicks [x] my apartment is not in the greatest area (for now)

[/ QUOTE ] Somewhat true, but not exactly. I get wasted and lower my standards all the time for random hookups - and lower the to below my "league." On paper, I'm a pretty damn good catch (looks, intelligence, aspirations, dollars, car, bedroom abilities, personality etc etc are all above average in my own opinion). I'm just not very good at meeting girls and getting them interested in the first place. So I just get wasted and go home with whatever sloot is desperate to bang someone. They always want to keep hanging out but when I'm sober, I want nothing to do with them. I get lucky once in a while and meet someone worthwhile. Just doesn't happen often, which explains why I've been single for coming on two years. Basically I just need to work on my confidence and game with women I could see being interested in instead of trying to pick up whoever is dumb/drunk enough not to care.

I quickly decide what girls are "long-term" material, and am somewhat picky (similar to Cardo's response.) So even if I know some cool chicks who I'd enjoy dating, I have trouble approaching them about relationship stuff and can't shake the mindset that "I'm using them," even though I know that's somewhat ridiculous.
