Re: Why is SNG rake so high?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] to either all email support with a detailed response, or to create an intelligent sounding letter on the forum [/ QUOTE ] ... say, like this? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah thats a good one, I sent a variation of that myself. We should either all start sending these or get one (possibly with more added on to make it even better) and all sign it and send it to them. The more they recieve the more they will consider it. |

Re: Why is SNG rake so high?
You guys have pointed out that the fish do not respond to lower rakes. That's actually an argument against lowering rakes, since only the sharks will be attracted. It would only work if all the sites (at least the major SNG sites) lowered their rakes at the same time. I would think this is one reason why sites would be reluctant to pull the trigger on this.
Basically, if you drop the rake, you drop the revenue per tourney, and if all that accomplishes is to get the sharks swarming in, pretty soon ROI's are worse than what they were before, the only difference is the site gets a smaller piece of the action. The games are still screwed. IMHO I think the high volume high limit pros need to work with the sites to figure out ways to increase ROI. In other words, not necessarily focus on the size of the rake, but on what ways the overall SNG situation can be more profitable. There's many factors to consider, bonuses, rakeback, getting the fish back into the games, all contribute to this. That's the real problem that needs to be addressed, because after all that's what this is all about, ROI's being razor thin or worse, especially at the high buy in's where all concerned make the most money. |

Re: Why is SNG rake so high?
The point is that by lowering rake more SNGs will be played, specifically higher buyins that hardly run now because they are too difficult to beat with the huge rakes, and their net profit will increase even though their per tournament rake has been lowered.

Re: Why is SNG rake so high?
The rake does need to be lowered, its not even close. You guys need to seriously band together or it'll never happen. The rake being the same for MTTs and STTs is really absurd and there's no logical justification for it. I do believe that if the forum takes proactive steps, the rake is more than 50% likely to be lowered, which makes everyone a lot of money.

Re: Why is SNG rake so high?
I realised that despite writing it, I hadn't sent my email to the sites.
This was what I received (my emphasis): [ QUOTE ] Hello Michael, We appreciate you taking the time to write in with these points. I have forwarded your email to the people responsible for ur tournaments, so they can consider your suggestions. Regards, Joanne PokerStars Support Team [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Why is SNG rake so high?
why not petition to increase the VPP paid for 1$ from 5 to 10? Then the high volume players will make more money from rakeback and the fish will want to play more too, and Stars will still make more money.
