I don't get to see Dalembert much, but I'm surprised that the 76ers homers are ranking him above Miller.

Sam Dalembert ain't anything super, but neither is Miller. Sam is younger & taller. He's an athletic center who can defend the paint & grabs rebounds. Kind of like a Tyson Chandler.

You read that correctly. I'm not all that impressed with Bynum. He doesn't try that hard, he pouts a lot, and from all accounts he doesn't work hard on his skills. I'm doubtful that he gets better, but I'm willing to revise my opinion if he makes huge strides this season.

[/ QUOTE ]

umm...it doesn't really matter if you're all that impressed with him or not. This is about ranking your team's top assets and pretty much every team in the NBA would trade for Bynum (and most of them have tried).

The way the OP was phrased I thought it was a different question. If it has to do with assets that would get the most return in trade, I would agree that Bynum is more attractive. I would rather have Odom on my team right now. People love Bynum's "upside", but I really don't think he has all that much.

Calderon's worth more than Ford. Better contract, better player. Rasho's got negative value because of his contract, so he'd need to get taken off that list - the Raptors couldn't give him away if they tried (and I'm sure they have).

IMO the contract thing is way overrated. VERY few players are signed long-term at below their market price.

Al Jefferson's 2.4 million dollars for this year is an awesome deal, but he's gonna be commanding some major bucks at the end of the year, so it's prett much discounted.

Same thing with Calderon being cheaper than Ford. You don't think someone will give Jose 8 mil per year when the time comes for his free agency (end of this coming season)?

I agree - Calderon gets the same salary as Ford in 1 year, and he'll be better than Ford both this year and after he signs that contract. Hence, why I'd rank Calderon as the more valuable asset - saves money now, provides better PG play now and then.

Yeah...I need to revise this seeing as the Rockets got Scola in the Spanoulius deal, signed Francis, and will probably
hold on to Hayes.

1. Yao Ming
2. Tracy McGrady
3. Shane Battier
4. Luther Head
5. Luis Scola
6. Bonzi Wells
7. Rafer Alston
8. Mike James
9. Aaron Brooks
10. Chuck Hayes

11. Steve Francis??? (sort of the same deal that put Michael Finley in San Antonio....2 years for 6 M total is a very reasonable risk if Francis can play at the half the level he did in Houston the 1st time)
