also i win (Kelly Carlson - Kimber from Nip/Tuck): obvs it's difficult to see her face but you can see how much classier she looks with short hair; if you ever watch nip/tuck her hair is stunning and barely touches her ears. [/ QUOTE ] That girl looks anorexic. |

[ QUOTE ] The reason the short hair works, or doesn't work, is all about the neck. [/ QUOTE ] QFT How did it take so long for someone to mention this? It's very hot if a girl can pull off the look. Sexy necks ftw [/ QUOTE ] Because it's just one feature among many that short hair accentuates, and not even the major one. |

[ QUOTE ] i win (as usual) [/ QUOTE ] Her hair is not that short, hence you don't win. [/ QUOTE ] If that doesn't qualify as short hair, you're inventing a private language. |

Re: Hot babes with short hair
"Short" is a useless term by that definition and pointlessly exclusionary. It also makes the terms "medium-length" and "long" much less clear.
Defining "short" in such an extremely limited way is like defining "color" as "purple." What's really useful is when hairstyles have names, like "pageboy" or "buzzcut" or "ducktail" or whatever. Without that, we start to get absurd attempts to describe hair like we're seeing here, where the meaning of "short" has become inexplicably narrow. |

Re: Hot babes with short hair
The picture you posted would clearly be "medium length". The way you are defining it, I have no idea what "medium length" would be. Lots of girls looks great with chin-length hair. In fact, almost anyone who looks good with long hair will also look good with chin-length hair. If chin-length hair counted as "short", there would be no point to this thread because it would be totally non-controversial. |

[/ QUOTE ] Then start a "Hot babes with pageboy haircuts" thread? The girl quoted has medium-length hair and it's not really close. Your letting your bias's about women's hair get in the way of objectively looking at it. If that same haircut was on a man, it would probably be called long hair, even though it's correctly medium-length. This hairstyle is an example of a threshold where I think you can go either short or medium length. The girl above has her hair completely covering her ears, and is very close to chin length. |
