janice is just like her mother - even though she claims she's not, she right away said something incredibly livia-like (forget what that was).
etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

I can't remember the exact words, but something along the lines of "And do I ever get any thanks for it?"

[/ QUOTE ]

this reminds me that i also liked the part with aj talking to carmela at the dinner table, wearing a wife beater, robe, gold chain and saying "always with the drama." mirror image of tony.

[/ QUOTE ]
Livia used to always say that.

Last thought, this ending will be misunderstood and panned right along the lines of "The Test Dream" episode. Maybe after some of you rewatch it or let the scene marinate in your subconscious for a while it will resonate. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Johnny Boy Soprano died of emphysema, not a hit.

Anyone notice AJ at the house with the Tonyism? Something like "Her with the drama eh!"

[/ QUOTE ]

ya, once they told him to go into porn, you kind of get the sense they are grooming him.

a few thoughts

1) cat was awesome

2) I remember thinking 'lol' when I saw the Journey song. Thought for sure he'd pick something else.

3) Was everyone kinda bugging out on the shady guy walking to the bathroom? Goddamn that was tense. I'm thinking it was untentional so we could see what it's like to be Tony. This is a daily occurence for him and look how we all reacted.

4) Was Chase [censored] with us? I assumed when he cut it he wanted us to be unsure what the [censored] just happened (cutting tape, busted tv, etc). I had to settle down first before I could think rationally.

I don't agree with the theory that Tony got killed.

If you look back on the last scene, it was a completely routine everyday scenario that had no tension about it. It is only the expectations of the audience that made it seem dangerous.

The scene was meant to show how easily manipulated an audience is into assigning meaning to essentially meaningless occurrences. This is especially true when these occurrences seem to allude to our existing experience with the genre: the guy going into the bathroom, referencing the Godfather, or the two black guys walking in, referencing Junior's hit on Tony. Even the existence of Meadow entering the scene makes the audience think of Godfather III.

[/ QUOTE ]

it was not shot like a routine scenario. the point is, there ARE no routine scenarios for the sopranos, even though there are. this is a tough concept to fully explain. the way the scene was shot was that there was the possibility the family wasn't going to show, or that the FBI was coming in, or that there might be a hit on Tony. I don't think it was just the fact that it was 9:55 during the last episode of the show.

TONY IS [censored] DEAD, WTF ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT. It was foreshadowed in the last episode with the flashback to him and bobby in the boat.

He was hit and killed and thats why there is an sudden black out.

TONY IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

I like that thought. I'll have to think about it.

I am so glad this show is over. I am tired of caring about characters that we are supposed to swoon over because David Grey or whatever his name is thinks they say clever things.

I really cant understand why you would even watch teh show then? seems insane to me.

I don't understand why so many people watch shows they don't like. If you think the last season or two has been a waste, and you don't actually care, then not watching should be easy. If you care and you don't like the way things have developed, then make a point about it.
