are you for real? Do I have to do anything specific to be able to live there?

Most Finns are born with a mullet and a bullet belt. If you can deal with that, you should be fine.

It's been a while since he released an album. His latest album was the biggest selling album of 2006 in Finland.

When it came out it didn't sell as well as their previous album(s), but after they won the Eurovision song contest the sales exploded.

The Berzerker.

everybody laughed at that "GRINDCORE" chick in jfish's thread but Dissimulate is a pretty amazing album. they have the fastest drummer in the world.

I can't tell you how many times i've listened to the berzeker. I did find their last album disappointing though.

I like The Berzerker. The machine-like drumming (when they've used real drummer) makes it sound cold and inhuman.

I think Gary Thomas hasn't played with The Berzerker after his injury few years ago.

Besides I believe Mike Mangini is the fastest drummer in the world.

I find it funny that no one mentions any grindcore bands except for pig destroyer, and everyone agreeing on that statement.

Napalm Death? Don't care much about their death metal period, but still easily one of the best bands in the history of extreme metal.

Besides Terrorizer and Hate Plow I mentioned few posts ago are usually counted as grind bands.

nasum.

Nasum was good, but Pig Destroyer is superior to everything else made in the past 10 years.

Two good grind bands:

Rotten Sound - Burden

Misery Index - The Great Depression

NP: Must Missa - You Filthy Pig

Pete,

I tried to listen to napalm death a few times, but I can't say I like their music. Their records suck and their tunes aren't that special. Maybe because I'm younger than you and from a 'new' generation of metal. I will go see them in the summer that may change my mind.

I don't really know why I like nasum better than pig destroyer, they both are on top of the grindcore genre imo.

Nasum did have their own style in the genre by making political lyrics that made them stand out for me. Each his own I guess.

I had the chance to see Rotten Sound, but they were the opener of Bolt Thrower, a band that isn't that worthwhile live. So I passed, damn shame.

What album have you tried? ND back catalogue is huge and some albums aren't that great.

Of the latest releases I'd recommend The Code Is Red...Long Live The Code, but Order Of The Leech and Smear Campaign are very good also.

Of the old albums I really love Scum and From Enslavement To Obliteration, but compared to todays grind standards those aren't heavy at all. Funny to think that when those albums came out ND was considered the most extreme band out there.

They are also great live band. It's fun to hear them play Suffer The Children at double speed compared to the album version.

Many grind bands have political lyrics. Grind evolved from punk after all.

You missed a lot passing a chance to see Rotten Sound live. One of the best live bands out there.

NP: Napalm Death - Warped Beyond Logic

;( A lot of people in this thread are completely clueless. Just randomly checking their music library and writing down every single band.

The list of KJS for example Cannibal Corpse and Pig Destroyer? What the hell. Cannibal corpse is a [censored] mediocre band with one of the most lazy drummers on earth.

I find it funny that no one mentions any grindcore bands except for pig destroyer, and everyone agreeing on that statement.

God would only listen to nasum.

Is Pig Destroyer "grindcore"??? Just because Scott Hull is in Pig Destroyer AND Agoraphobic Nosebleed doesn't automatically make PD grindcore. I think the blast beats are too few and far between to be considered grindcore. As far as Grindcore, I only like a select few.

How about Blood Duster? Their first cd was straight up grindcore. They start to get less an less grindcore with the albums after that, but, they do still include some 15 second songs. Agoraphobic Nosebleed, A.C. those are grindcore. I don't think you can call Pig Destroyer grindcore.
