Remind me never to hire you.

Right, I'm worried about a guy with a hispanic screen name from "crunkville" and a lil john avatar, hiring me. If I get fired, maybe i'll hit you up for cut in the un-employment line.

A complainer and you wouldn't get along with minority co-workers.

I'm hispanic, but that still doesn't mean you are anything less than a disgrace to the human race who likes to pretend he is something. Hey when we interview, can we sip some syzzrp from your pimp cup?

Since this doesn't sound like a job where you're subject to schedule changes (like employment at a hospital, department store, many sales position, might be), it's perfectly reasonable if you tell your boss you won't be able to work on that Saturday. You can say you have a wedding to attend for example. But...

Also, understand that unless you REALLY have a good reason for not showing up, you're not being a good employee and shouldn't be disappointed if you get what you deserve down the road. Your boss shouldn't just "assume" that all his employees will accomadate this sudden and one time abberration in the company schedule, but he can expect them to try to. As a boss I would and have. As an employee, I also have.

I gotta tell ya, you do sound like a lazy "not my job bro", kind of "do the minimal" to me. I don't like people like that working for me.

Don't forget, you always have the option of finding a better gig with more stable hours or a more reasonable boss.

FWIW I said I was going out of town. There will be 4 of us. No plane tix will be cancelled but i still have to pay for the room i'm supposed to be splitting.

[/ QUOTE ]

You have douche friends if they let you pay for part of the room.

Edit:

Assuming you:

- Immediately told your boss of potential traveling conflict
- Offered to put in extra hours before/after your traveling

There is nothing more you can do and your boss might be an ass for making you work. If you decide to take a personal day, you should let him know immediately.
