rbk,

some 22 yr old male sits down at your table. What factors sculpt how you view him as a player, e.g. his ethnicity, how much he buys in for, whether he has sunglasses etc. Do you presume most unknowns are donks? If so, how long to get a grasp on how good they are?

[/ QUOTE ]

thats a great question.
generally im biased towards viewing younger players as being more laggy until proven otherwise.

other then that its mostly the table demenor that forms my opinion, however i def. laugh a little on the inside when some unknown kid sits down with the glasses and hat and proceedes to act like its the wpt final table.

usually though it real easy to tell right away if its some unknown donk taking a shot or an out of town kid thats a good player.

What would you "do over" if anything concerning the whole process of getting to where you are at today as a poker player, person, etc?

as a poker player i would have chosen not to loan money to a couple of people who stiffed me, and i would have never bet on sports.

as a person i'll keep those transgressions to myself.

edit: ok thats kind of a cop out so i'll give ya one.
when i was younger i slept with a friends ex-girlfriend and it ruined our friendship.
i wasn't even into her either she just threw herself at me and at the time i didn't have the discpline to turn it down.
i def. regret that and i no longer have that discpline problem.

thanks bro, i didn't make it down to the game but i watched it.
i must say though it was hard to have any consolation after the complete mid season collapse.
god i wanted to beat USC so bad...we could have lost every single game and beat USC and i would have been happy.

I'm moderately curious why on the takebacks list pit gambling isn't on there.

If you couldn't live in LA, where would you live?

well i haven't lost enough in the pits to make the whole experience worth taking back.
in fact i'm probably not down all that much in the pits and i get treated like a vip.
nice suites, limo's, vip to clubs etc...
and while i don't do it up as big in vegas anymore i have some great memories.
i'll always remember sipping on $400 champagne from my huge suite overlooking the whole strip while like 15 of my friends from HS chowed down on a 3K room service bill.
good times.

as for where i'd live, first choice would be bay area, prolly the berkeley hills.
only other place i can think of in the US would be CO on a ranch somewhere out in the middle of nowhere.

there are also a ton of places i could be happy in europe.

if you were in the same situation you were in when you first started playing in the current day and age, do you think you could grind it up just or similarly as you did? basically, have live games gotten tougher over the past few years just as online has?

that being said i am confident i could still become a winning player.
i hate losing, and have a good mind for the game.
