I'm not even that good but it would probably cost someone at least 500k post tax to pay me off from quitting poker

Right now I feel like I could do it for $1M. But realistically I will probably make a lot more than that over my life from poker and then also get to satiate my need for intellectual competition too so I dunno... At the moment I probably enjoy/care about poker a lot less than most people on this forum but I reckon by the time I'm say, 50/60 years old there won't be much better to do than sit around gambooling.... If it was "forget about poker for 25 years" then sure, $1M.

$25k. Pay taxes, pay off credit cards. $10k left. Done. Bye forever. I'm sure soon enough some new obsession will arise like sports betting, betting on chess/cribbage, etc.
