Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
You know what, I love da Ali G show, Ive watched him since episode one, but all you smug douche bags in this thread, who cant wait tell tell everyone how progressive you are, and that the "white people" will have such a problem with the movie, and how the US is a bunch of racist, arrogant, morans, really ruins seeing it in theatres.

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
What the hell are you talking about, Quids?
Anyway, nobody has mentioned the scene where Borat's son is holding him up in the photograph. "Hesa Strong!" "17 Centimeters!" F***ing absurd. |

[ QUOTE ]
i just want to say i am a bigger fan of ali g than all of you. my favorite scene was the gypsy scene, that had such amazing understated humor i was laughing uncontrollably... "i am going to look through your stuff now... do you understand?" "gypsy, is this where you keep your spells? do not try and shrink me" [/ QUOTE ] I need to see it again... I missed a couple of follow-up jokes because of laughter from the first one. I wish the deleted doctor scene with the gypsy tears would have been left in. |

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Did anyone else's theater get dead silent at the end of the frat boy scene when they said things like "the minority has all the power", and "we wish we still had slaves"? My theater was silent as hell. [/ QUOTE ] No way. Your theater was uptight. We were laughing the whole time. The best part of the frat boys scene though, is when Borat describes that game involving the cheese and mouse. And the frat guy says "I'd do it." [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, I live in one of the most diverse cities on the planet, so I think (white) people were afraid of that scene. Even though I think the majority of ppl in the theater were probably white, I didn't really look around and got there kind of late, but it is always in peoples mind that you may be sitting next to a "minority" at the theater, or anywhere else in the city (except golf courses). [/ QUOTE ] I'm a minority. Honestly, anyone who goes to this movie and gets offended by something like that is a moron. There were lots of black people around me, all of them were laughing. |

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
[ QUOTE ]
my point being that a lot of his jokes aer anti jew [/ QUOTE ] None of his jokes are anti-Jew. His jokes are making fun of people who are anti-Jew. Take the scene with the bed & breakfast Jewish couple. In no way is he joking about them -- he's pointing out how nice they are, which is why it's ridiculous when people are anti-Semitic like Borat; like, why would anyone fear a couple like that and think they turned into cockroaches and love money. His target is anti-Semitism. The jokes are pro-Jew. |

Re: The official Borat Movie Thread
The Southern formal dinner scene was spectacular. I was crying by the time he came back to the table with the "bag" in his hands. The movie is a classic. I wonder how TBS will figure out how to edit it so they can run it into the ground four years from now.
