joker,

I don't have the worksheet available, meaning I don't want to bust out my laptop right now. But I'm pretty sure I only counted nath's last list. The extra mention would seem to be that Hi-Fi is #8 on MEbenhoe's list, which is exclusively featured in the Mod Playground.

All,

A lot of these lists, while a lot of great albums, make it pretty clear that a bunch of you were like 10yo in '96.

I will return with some contributions this evening.

I've been listening to They Mean Us by The ladies a lot lately, and its really good. QotSA should have at least one album on these lists too.

I haven't read the thread, but lack of an Eminem album on these lists is pretty hard to justify IMO.

But these are intensely subjective lists and it was probably extremely difficult to narrow down to 25, so it's not that big a deal. I just can't imagine him not being on them.

No it isn't. Eminem [censored] sucks.

I have to pick up some more music from some of these lists before I can make my own, but I'm pretty sure it would include Sublime, Mer De Noms, and Californication.

I really really don't understand this criticism. For a list that belies a poster's age, look no further than NT!'s, who I think has about 2 albums after 2000.

Lists will always have older albums at the top and newer stuff at the bottom. Look at the three lists in the OP - the top 5s are dominated by 1997 and 1998. I imagine if we were to expand the list to 50 albums 1990 and after, you'd see an even bigger difference. Nearly my entire top 20 would be in the 1990s and the rest would be from the 2000s. The older stuff will always get a bonus, but the bulk of the albums will be the ones fresh in people's minds.

So how old does it make me? I'm curious to see what people think.

Maybe not age, but perhaps biases. I'd put you late 20s.
