Ever heard of RSD (Real Social Dynamics)?

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course, .

Congrats you're the first person to even notice that!

But okay, I'm much more interested in the BMW M3 method as it's laid out (RSD still doesn't have TournamentDirector's blueprint ready yet) as well as NoLimitPoker and check/fold. In fact, I do not think RSD is anything unique just a different group of the same dudes...

Have any interesting discussion topics or questions?

Yugo,

Terrific thread.

1) Do you do independant work to keep up on trends in the marketing/advertising field? If so, what do you read?

2) Do you think verizon is actually the best wireless provider out there? If so, why?

3) Did you move to Orange County because of your job or other considerations?

4) Why stop at the 55 speeds (seriously)? What is your assessment of the 33s v. the 55s? The 55s v. the 109s?

5) OMG, what is your opinion of me?!?!

Thanks! I will take full responsibility and redit then, .

[/ QUOTE ]
Ummm well I have no formal marketing/communications/business/advertising/etc background, . When I first started in advertising I read the trade magazines (adweek/adage/etc) but they are much more useless than people apparently think.

I've read some books (mainly about branding and strategic thinking b/c that's what I like) and it has lead to me having a much better grasp of fundamentally what marketing and advertising should be able (distinguishing a brand from others and creating a rich - ha! sort of a pun - emotional connection).

But okay, right now I'm reading Primal Branding by some dude who I found out recently used to work for our company in some capacity or another. The book essentially tries to distill a framework for how uberbrands like apple/google/starbucks/etc have acheived the level of zealotry they currently enjoy. Good book, but I know it all already due to hangin' with my man Steve W at corporate in MN and hearing him go on and on about advertising archetypes and zealotry.

Okay that likely makes no sense, lol. I read basically whatever seems interesting. Industry news is *not* intersting to me, I couldn't care less if Crispin' Porter (BK/VW) won another account of if shiat day is going to get sued for running un PC ads in order to break through the advertising clutter.

I do have a couple friends who seem to keep me abreast of the cool work going on, which is nice but not necessary.

I feel like I'm not answering your question so plz follow up if you want!

2) Do you think verizon is actually the best wireless provider out there? If so, why?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, probably. They do have actual proof to show that their network is generally better than the competition. However, they also generally charge more. I dunno, the last 3 places I've lived only Verizon worked, and the place b4 that (college) only Sprint worked. As it is with just about any product that isn't monpolized by the govt. it doesn't *really* matter what you get, .

[ QUOTE ]

3) Did you move to Orange County because of your job or other considerations?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I moved due to the position offered to me in Irvine but I also have family around here (there is even a city somewhat close by named after my family, ) including my sister who now lives in Burbank.

I still have not decided whether the OC is "the plan" or not.

4) Why stop at the 55 speeds (seriously)?

[/ QUOTE ]
Who said stop?

[ QUOTE ]

What is your assessment of the 33s v. the 55s?

[/ QUOTE ]
Haven't played almost any 33 speeds. I assume that as it was under the old structure in the 55s you have to even more actively extract chips in the middle levels.
[ QUOTE ]

The 55s v. the 109s?

[/ QUOTE ]
Well in the 109s you better refine your skillz quickly b/c your free pushes will dry up in the short term as regulars recognize you. You will want to become familiar with the regulars' pushing ranges so as to not let them steal your EV and neutralize their play. There really isn't too much of a difference except your ROI will naturally take a hit and such.
[ QUOTE ]

5) OMG, what is your opinion of me?!?!

[/ QUOTE ]
You seem very "intelligent" whatever that means. I definitely like your posts and you come across as a pretty cool guy. Umm, I think I had you pegged on partypoker as some particular screen name once and then decided that it couldn't be you. For some reason you seem to be a non-dumb question laughingboy/atticusfinch....I have no idea why that pops into my head, I haven't really analyzed the thought much, lol.

Yugoslav
Who def liked laughingboy/atticus but some of his questions were on the Scuba Chuck level of "OMG RLY?!?! Did he just ask that question?!"

Yugo there are several questions that vex me greatly.

1) Should sex between a brother and sister be illegal? Assume one or both are infertile. If so, why?

2) A friend of yours wins a large amount of money at lotto. Are you primarily (a) happy for him (b) jealous?

3) I don't know how old your mother is, but let's assume shes in her forties. One of her friends, in her early forties, propositions you, and despite her advancing years she's pretty attractive. Do you consider doing it, even briefly? Do you actually do it?

kthx.

Chris

It definitely shouldn't be illegal if it's as hot as it is in the porn I've watched!!

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Happy of course. I was completely thrilled that TheUsher got 2nd in the 5k PLHE event....not even a trace of envy or jealousy. Even happier if the friend decides to do something with it that directly benefits me (which ursher likely would have done had I been able to stay in vegas). But that is secondary.

[ QUOTE ]

3) I don't know how old your mother is,

[/ QUOTE ]
Older than SFB !

[ QUOTE ]

but let's assume shes in her forties.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah this isn't right but okay easy enough for the purpose of the resulting thought experiment.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. I would certainly not rule her out for being in her 40s or being friends with my mom. Whether or not I actually did it is dependent on how into her I am. I've learned I cannot (as perhaps other people can) definitively say I will have sex with a chick and then expect myself to ctually want to have sex with the chick if the chance arises.

kthx.

You talk about basketball pretty often. Do you play at all? How good are you? I'm going to be back down in LA for the next week. I'll be looking for some pickup if you know of any good games.

Also, when you look at my screenname, which of the following pops into your head (more than one answer is acceptable):

A) I've never seen this guy post in my life
B) He posts here sometimes
C) This is the guy I convinced to fold pp early a while ago
D) WTF is a Taraz?

How are things at work going?
What are your future career plans? Does your current path adequately support this pursuit?
Are you sufficiently over her yet?

(That's TWO 4 syllable 'ly' words, w00t!)

Bonus Question:

I'll have the privilege of finally meeting Jay this weekend. We have ample time Saturday afternoon/evening...and access to basically everything (including an indian casino with limit games). As a fellow west coast'r - and knowing him as you do...any activities you'd like to suggest?
