Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
-Gummo: This movie is very depressing. It doesn't really have a plot per se', but the story is about a hick-ish town and the very odd people who live in it. Nearly every scene in this movie is totally [censored] up. It's very uncomfortable to watch.
-Welcome To The Doll House: It's been a while since I last watched WTTDH, but I remember it being very good, as well as odd, for lack of a better word. Todd Solondz' movies create an uncomfortable feeling of embarassment for the characters. Palindromes comes to mind. -One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. When Chief see's Jack Nicholson's character slowly walk to his bed and lay down, Chief thinking Jack is pretending to be a vegetable, finding out he actually did have a labotomy, and the subsequent action he takes crushes me. Excellent ending, though. Very sad, yet uplifting. The Green Mile: When Percy stomps Mr. Jingles. -Hotaru No Haka: This is probably the most depressing film I've ever seen. I didn't cry, but I thought about the film for a few days after. Incredibly disturbing, especially since it's based on a true story. [ QUOTE ] Has anyone seen Cannibal Holocaust? I almost puked during the scene where he stabs the muskrat and stopped there. Apparently there's also rape, turtles getting their heads cut off, and a pile of dead buried babies? [/ QUOTE ] I actually didn't find it to be very disturbing. While the muskrat stabbing and turtle beheading are real events that occurred to film the movie, they didn't bother me. I think it has something to do with them needing to kill the animals to eat, and not for their own fun in torturing a helpless creature. [ QUOTE ] Also, did Wolf Creek get released in the US? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, this movie is absolutely horrible. |

Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
The rape scene in 'Once were Warriors' is pretty disturbing because it seems so real. This whole film is pretty depressing really.

Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
in "Happiness" when the boy's father admits to his son that he has had fondled and had sex with the boy's friends. Then he tells him he wouldn't have sex with him, but masturbates instead. All in the tone of a loving father.
It's a funny movie btw, if you can get past the scenes of this nature. |

Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
Soldier's Girl.
When Glover attacks Barry in his sleep with a baseball bat and bashes his head in. It's so vicious, almost animal in nature, and juxtaposed with Calpernia singing. Knowing that this is a true story makes it even more difficult to watch. Shauna |

Re: Most disturbing scene in a movie
There were some parts in this movie Palindromes that were sick. The one that comes to mind was a group of physicaly handicap'ed youth performing a song about Jesus.
