Re: Proposed proposition bet with Gigabet
I'm still in, but I think you are all overestimating the value of those HHs. He isn't going to be playing his normal game... He is going to be playing survival poker. High ITM, low ROI. Garbage to learn from. Still worth it, IMO. Assuming Gig is 60/40, a $100 bet only has a -$20 EV, so in effect you are paying $20 for those HHs.

Re: Proposed proposition bet with Gigabet
I don't see how. I think the higher the level you play the more read and feel dependent the play is....how do you learn how to read and feel people by looking at hand histories??? That is developed with experience. The 22s have bareley anything to do with reading and feeling people. They have a lot to do with your cards, your position, and the position of other players that have entered the pot, or are waitng to enter the pot.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't mean to comment just on Nick's posts, but sure the 215s are developed a lot by feel and your notes and your instincts. Nobody is going to become that much better just because of these hand histories. But lets say someone is a 6% ROI 215 player now, and already has some feel for the game. I think seeing how someone like Gigabet or Curtains reacts in a certain situation would be interesting. And I also think looking at 100 HHs for pattern can be valuable, as much so as discussing isolated hands as we often do here, because with a complete hand history we get more context. Again, I don't expect this to be a magic bullet. But I am interested in replaying some of the tournaments, thinking about what I would notice about some of those oppoents, and seeing where his plays differred from what I did. I have my own style and am not going to copy Gigabet's, but I do think it could be a helpful learning too. Also, as far as survival poker goes, didn't Raptor just start a threat yesterday in which his conclusion was that the Party structure lends itself to survival poker? So while of course we go for the win when necessary, I'd assume Gigabet would in most cases do what is most +EV given the Party structure, allowing him to build a bankroll. In any case, I'm not expecting this to be a manual on how to win anyway, just an interesting excercize. And something thinking for yourself can be interesting. |

Re: Proposed proposition bet with Gigabet
I put the chances of Gigabet winning this bet around 95%, should he be diligent about it, and 80% if he just 8 tables thru it.
