havnen't really read the responses yet but i can't even begin to guess how much time i put into some games

for sure my all time list would probably go in this order:
1. Goldeneye
2. Civilization 3 (part of the reason why i never fully wanted to get into civ 4)
3. tetris for gameboy
4. the many incarnations of mario kart
5. street figther 2

i've spent a sick number of hours in rpgs like final fantasy and pokemon building up characters too.

i've played the orignal final fantasy on NES multiple times with different character groups and got them all to level 99 each a couple times. even though final fanstasy 6 (ff3 for snes in US) is my all time fave RPG i never spent nearly as much time on it.

During season 2 of vanilla starcraft I was fairly competitive on the battle.net ladder. I would play probably 50 hours a week, trying to make the top 16 so I could get flown to a tournament in NYC. I never broke the low 30s and broke the CD after the season was over because it was consuming my life and I haven't played since then.

Other than starcraft I used to play Everquest quite a bit.

My game timer on Perfect Dark must be somewhere between 15-20 days. I spent tons of time on multi with a friend of mine, but most of the time was spent playing for world records. Defection times of 0:06, 0:41, and 1:31 are pretty sexy, but my best was WAR SA 0:47. Unfortunately, I was never ranked too high.

Everquest by far was where most of my time was spent. I literally spent every waking non-work hour playing it for about 5 years. Got into a top end raiding guild after about the first year and a half and was there until my retirement from the game about 6 months ago. Character name was the same name as my 2+2 name right now if anyone recognizes me.

As far as console games go, I spent most of my time with Tecmo Super Bowl and Final Fantasy 3 for SNES. I did put in an extraordinate amount of time in several other FF games for the Playstation but a lot of it was spent playing the mini games or time wasted sleeping while the game was still on.

Diablo 2/LOD was the most in terms of hours. I took a 2 hour nap every other week to recouperate. Maybe.

Counterstrike is a close second...
