Re: Worst movies of all time
1. The Crow. Worst movie I've ever seen. The story is horrible, the directing mindless and unimaginative, and the whole thing bored me to tears and pissed me off. Horrible, horrible, horrible. And all you Crow-fans can go F yourself, so don't bother with your "ZOMG! The Crow rocks" crap.
2. Caligula - Great actors like Malcom McDowell and John Gielgud are tricked into appearing in Bob Guccionne's soft-core porno. That's way more interesting than the piece of dog [censored] the film itself actually is. 3. Hostel I've written about how bad I think this one is before. So mind-numbingly banal and technically inept that I wouldn't bother mentioning it except for the fact that Director Eli Roth actually has pretensions that the movie is on par with masters like Mikke. One of the very worst movies ever made. 4. The Sweetest Thing - I remember watching this disaster with my mouth open, not believing how every joke was forced and fell flat and how otherwise good actors like Christina Applegate and Cameron Diaz looked desperate for any kind of director feedback - which they obviously never received. |

Re: Worst movies of all time
I'll follow up by saying in part I liked 'The Crow' because it helped me get over my bitter disappointment in the piece of suckage that was 'Batman'.
Batman may not have been such a bad movie. It just didn't live up to the hype that was pushed on Batman comic fans. "This isn't going to be the campy TV series, we're gonna get back to the dark, brooding Batman of the comic." Bollocks. (that's for you, db) What we got was Jack Nicholson parading around dancing to Prince like an idiot. I walked out of the sneak preview extremely pissed. I wanted a dark, violent, revenge movie. I'd probably like 'Batman Begins' and if I ever get two hours to myself again I'll check it out. While 'Batman' isn't one of the worst movies of all time, it's high on my 'I don't care if I never see that again' list. Oddly, I'll watch 'Batman and Robin' if I see it on the tube. Or the one with Alicia Silverstone. 'The Crow' helped me get that need for what I expected 'Batman' to be off my chest. There's also that chick I knew, the gothy girl who was into the Crow graphic novel...... *sigh* good times. Worst movie ever made: Friday the 13th Part II. I never saw another one and always wondered how they kept getting made. No use underestimating the taste of the American public though. |

Dom
I liked the Crow, and Caligula. I think I'm the only person I know that likes Caligula though. I do watch it as a comedy, if that helps. 'The Sweetest Thing' - I recorded this off the TV the other night, and want to watch it to see if it's as bad as everyone says. |
