Re: Demon 2: Dust to Dust - Game Thread
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] man, what a [censored] mess this thing is going to be [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I just hope the oracle survives a while or we'll never know *anything*. [/ QUOTE ] If the oracle is eaten by demons early, the village very well could be completely screwed, depending of course on what the priest can do. In fact, if anyone tries to role-claim "oracle" at the end of a day to escape a lynch, we may have to lynch them anyways, lest they be killed (if oracle) or possess (if demon) that night. Then someone else could claim "oracle" next day, and we will have no idea what is going on. It was something I was hoping to be able to do as a bad guy in the first Demon, but we didn't kill the oracle before he came out. |

Re: Demon 2: Dust to Dust - Game Thread
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] How could we know that a demon did not fake priest or fake oracle? Anyone talking about not protecting the Executioner is dumb. [/ QUOTE ] Well I assume if someone claims oracle/priest and turns up villager we can stop believing the faker. The demons wouldn't fake a role just to be voted executioner. They would only do so to prevent themselves from being lynched. [/ QUOTE ] this i strongly disagree with. Maybe not this early, but i can see where a demon would fake claim a role to become the executioner. They would have 3 votes, and probably be protected for a day. That is powerful. Or they could jump out and posess someone else before the real person claims their role. |

Re: Demon 2: Dust to Dust - Game Thread
Indeed, with possession a factor someone is going to have to present a very good case for being a special role before I unvote.

Re: Demon 2: Dust to Dust - Game Thread
[ QUOTE ]
I don't think the Demons will possess much just because most people will not want to die. Unless a Demon is under heavy pressure, I don't see the upside of deciding to possess. [/ QUOTE ] Not wanting to be out of the game aside (and remember that demons can still chat with each other all the time, even while dead)... I can imagine where either a demon would die as a sort of frame-up, the same way a wolf might pick a kill to set up another player, or a demon would die to convert a villager who was beneath suspicion at the time. (for example, X votes for Y, saying I'm sure he's a demon, and leads a bandwagon against him, which falters at the end. Y dies that night. Is X a demon, trying to get villager Y lynched, or is X a villager, and Y really was a demon, who possessed Z that night and then Z leads the charge against X the next day...?) |
